Siglo XXI Spanish Language

I studied with Professor Alonso for 3 years and loved it! His class sizes we intimate enough where I was really able to feel like I was taking in the information. All of my classmates were like-minded kind individuals, and I would recommend these classes to anyone trying to strengthen their Spanish skills in a relaxed environment.

Alonso is as good a teacher as you could ask for. He is profoundly intelligent, thoughtful, and excellent in explaining language. The classes move at your pace, are friendly, and are fun. There is no teacher from whom I'd rather learn. Alonso is an absolute delight regardless of your Spanish level. You can't go wrong here.

The instruction by Señor Alonso Benavides is truly exceptional. I have been in his classes for over four years. I started in his intermediate class with a few other students (his class limit is 6 students), and now have been in his conversation class with 3-4 other students for the past two years. The small class size, the emphasis on speaking and the grammar help are all very special and effective. The walls of his office where his classes are conducted are lined with examples of Spanish grammar. I find that his method of teaching along with the exceptionally small maximum class size accelerate my learning. This method is much more effective for me than being in a classroom with 25-30 other students. Having said that, I still occasionally take other larger classes through Adult Ed in Santa Barbara. I find that some of the assignments of reading Spanish novels are very helpful.
