KDamp believes education is business. Only listens to his buddy Greg. Doesn’t care or take the time to even listen to his students. Thanks for caring when all I did was try to help. Special thanks to the Disabilities and Attorney of Students. Only faculty at the ENTIRE university that truly care. BTW, I was admitted into UT AND Texas State in 2017 for free with FAFSA AND HARD EARNED SCHOLARSHIPS. KDAMP CARES SOLELY ABOUT MAINTAINING HIS IMAGE SO HE WILL NOT GET FIRED. JUSTICE FOR TENURED PROFESSOR DR. THOMAS ALTER. Thank you kindly.

This school has some of the worst parking I've ever seen. If you plan to commute to this school, don't bother, find another university. I transferred here this past semester and I've still been looking for way to mitigate the headache that is finding parking here. Most parking nearby the school is private, and even the city parking has 2-hour limits. I've seen both the school parking enforcement and the city parking enforcement doing active patrolling in the mornings so they clearly make it a priority to ticket anyone parked for too long or parked in unauthorized zones. The on-campus enforcement aggressively, actively searches for vehicles to cite like they have some sort of quota to reach. Parking on campus is bad. Most zones that are nearby any buildings are for staff only, others are for residents only (those who live in the dorms), and some zones that are open have so few spots that you'd be lucky to find one open. You can also choose to take the shuttle, which is so packed with people you'll be standing shoulder to shoulder some of the times and that makes for a pretty uncomfortable bus ride. I have to park off campus and walk there despite having a school parking pass because I cannot find reliable parking. This is really a shame because I have great and knowledgable instructors. Other than the parking, the school isn't that bad. This school just does not care about commuters. If you plan to live in the dorms or take classes online, go for it, but commuters, avoid this school.

the people are all nice and so are the facility's yet parking is abysmal and many entity's within Texas state are poorly operated such as the websites basically you need to use 7 websites to attend also the campus itself is difficult to navigate. new student orientation was chaos. I wish I never transferred from Austin community college.

Class availability is trash. I work a full time so unless you get first dibs, finding classes for full time school is nearly impossible. I even went through the process of requesting a spot for an ONLINE class and they only open them for seniors who are graduating. If you apply here, I hope you have rich parents so you do not have to work. Also, parking sucks. School is nice on the outside, but smells like sewage and the classrooms are either super old or crammed with chairs that connect to the desks.

As a 1995 Graduate I am so moved by the beauty and long legacy of this institution. My daughter-in-law also graduated from here and she is one of the best educators I know. I was so very blessed to be part of the SWT era and so thankful that I have cherished memories from my days as a Graduate Assistant and the wonderful Professors that helped me to become the teacher I became in Music. Love this place , there is a reason it is called San Marvelous!

I have two degrees from Texas State and have supported as an alumni and season ticket holder. This university is now the Governor's lapdog
