Miramar Martial Arts Academy (Mira Mesa)

This place is AMAZING and a hidden gem (and that is an understatement)! Master Thai is invested in training his students of all ages with compassion, care and discipline. You are not another number here. He is a one-of-a-kind instructor who shows passion and dedication for what he does with a kind and loving heart. Master Thai also regularly gives back to the community and makes learning Tang Soo Do fun for anyone at any level. He is a rarity and we are so appreciative for the opportunity for our kids to learn, excel, be disciplined and thrive under his tutelage. 10/10 recommend!

My son started when he was 5 and he’s about to turn 7. He is a full yellow belt on his way to full orange belt. I have to say that for teaching and training kids at these age, Master Thomas Thai is definitely the best there is. He’s not only patient and focused but he’s determined to make your kid push their boundaries and become more focused and strong (both mentally and physically) I believe martial arts is great for kids because it focuses on discipline and training their young minds, so if you are considering …. Give them a try !

My son discovered this place almost 7 years ago. A month later his sister and I joined him and we've all been training here since then. Although my daughter took a break now she's in college, my son and I continue to train here. Master Thai, the owner and most Senior instructor is the best instructor you'll ever want. Your children not only learn self defense but more importantly to respect people in general. They also learn to be self confident and how to become leaders. All Senior Black Belt Instructor are all very helpful; who will gladly work with you one-on-one basis to reach your goal as you move up the ranks. All training is geared toward overall fitness and flexibility. The ultimate goal for training is to make everyone become good citizens in our community. Please check this place out! It will be worth your time and money!

We had both our daughters do a week class here over our vacation and Thomas the owner was very personable and did a great job teaching them the basics of martial arts. If we lived closer I would definitely enroll them at this studio. The studio is spacious and clean. The classes were an hour long and both my girls enjoyed it very much. I also did a kickboxing class and loved it. Thomas is really high energy and outgoing and really helpful with the forms. I really thought Thomas was very attentive with all the students. Recommend this studio!!!! You won't be disappointed!

I have been a student of Master Thai SBN for about 10 years. every class that i participate in is always a very tiring, yet enjoyable experience for me. Miramar Martial arts helped me boost my confidence, both inside and out of the studio. Master Thai is truly a great inspiration that i look up to. He sets Goals for me and my fellow students so we may strive for personal excellence Five Stars!

I train regularly with Master Thai and he runs a great school. I have trained with many martial artists for over 32 years and Master Thai is among the best. He has a close-knit group of dedicated students that support each other. His studio is clean and well-suited for its purpose, he even turns on the air-conditioning sometimes! I recommend his school regularly to anyone showing interest in martial arts, men, women, and boys and girls.

I highly recommend Miramar Martial Arts Academy as both a parent and a fellow student. My daughter started almost three years ago in 2012, I followed the six months later after attending a few of my daughters classes as well as the adult classes. I can personally vouch my daughter growth and self esteem has improved not only in Soo Bahk Do but in other activities outside the studio. Master Thai and his assistant instructors goals for each student is based on each students own abilities. Training in martial arts is all about your own goals, your efforts are rewarded by improvements reviewed on testing day. I'm proud of my family becoming a part of Miramar Martial Arts Academy Family.. There are many family members who have been training together.. The studio supports other activities from fund raising to beach cleanup.. The friendships we have made within the studio will live on for many years.. October 2016 marks my 4th year of training at Miramar Martial Arts Studio.. SBN Thai and supporting instructors are excellent practitioners in the art of Soo Bahk Do.. As we develope from white belts to colored belts we constantly being molded to embrace the Moo Duk Five values.. The instructors under SBN Thai guidance reinforce personal growth for each individual abilities.. With hard work and 100% effort your child and / or yourself will reap the rewards..
