THIS school is TERRIBLE , first you could never contact a counselor without an appointment then only come once the week for walk ins. Yall finally change it and Sheila is on the phone being rude saying she can’t help me with anything and that they are closed at 4:20pm when they close at 5. Don’t get my started on the FASFA ladies that’s a different story. I can’t even call the school because the system won’t let you get through. I’m trying to contact the lady who I JUST spoke to, to get out of my RECORDS so I can REGISTER FOR MY CLASS I don’t have all day for her to click a "X" that’s ridiculous!!! I’m not done either yall will hear about my story at this school. The DEAN, THE COUNSELORS and "PROFESSORS" and FASFA.

The facility is very nice and accessible. NOTE: Google maps takes you to the college building itself. The correct place to park is in the parking garage across the street.

The building was clean. Multiple entrances and bathrooms. Easy to find. Hidden space for peace or alone time.

OCC-Royal Oak Campus is home to many, many students who aspire in many, many ways. I'm truly grateful to Photography Instructor Rob Kangas, who's retiring soon. What a gift! Many, many other instructors have taught and inspired many, many students. Thanks a million!

Recently started back going to school during the summer semester and did 100 percent online courses ..I haven't been to college in over 14 years so working the d2l site was a challenge and then some teachers uses Proctor for exams ..I must say the grading scale has changed alot since I went to school in 2011..you can get 100 percents on all your course work and still fail the class or come close to it and the professors are anal they're heartless they're not understanding nor do they care to help you , I understand that it's college and we're all adults but these professors are anal and they have no compassion..I've had to drop a few courses due to reading syllabus for courses and some teachers were so rude and blunt they basically cursed us out in a nice way and they have a negative demeanor..rude and arrogant the way they talk in the syllabus and some are not realistic..they expect a three page paper , 20 pages of mind tap homework plus listen to 15 chapters of lectures at once plus a quiz all in one week and some teachers will put the quiz date up on a Saturday that's to be taken by Tuesday way too much work and they basically tell ya "oh well" "there's no extra credit during this semester " one teacher was so rude in her syllabus I think her name was Johnson..she goes " if you earn a 89 percent in my course , don't bother asking me if I can bump it to a 90 for you , answer will be no! I mean she was very aggressive in her syllabus I dropped her course like a bad habit..I am not understanding why these teachers are so damn rude cocky and arrogant ..how are yall teachers but don't want to help and assist your students so that they can succeed? I've never seen so many teachers that were unwilling to help their students succeed in my life ...I also got behind in one class due to the death of my manager , got laid off of work plus going thru alot of excruciating things and they had me write an appeal just to deny it on purpose ..even with proof ..this school and these teachers does not care about you ..all they care about is the money..I have decided to go to another college and dropped this one ..very ignorant professors and staff

OCC is horrible with the phone system. Student services women (intentional) are EXTREMELY rude, dismissive, and unprofessional to say the least. They hurry up and not say their names and are UNAPOLOGETICALLY rude to the core! You make purchases from the bookstore and they don't know ANYTHING! NOBODY AT OCC KNOWS ANYTHING! AMAZING! If you DON'T CARE, APPLY AND OCC, THEY'LL HIRE YA!! This is my first semester, transferring from WASHTENAW community college and they rock in majority of areas, but I won't patronize OCC much beyond my first semester. I'm going to rock these 5 classes out and transfer the heck out of the UNCONCERNED INSTITUTION!

As someone who has always struggled with school, Oakland Community College is the best. The staff is very friendly and patient. The culture is welcoming. I would recommend OCC to anyone. I never thought I would graduate from college, but I am almost done with my associates now. I couldn't have done it without OCC and their awesome staff and students. There are a lot of programs to choose from. They also offer online classes.
