St. John Lutheran Church

6 WEEKS AGO THIS MORNING, I WAS BACK AT THIS CHURCH AND SCHOOL FOR THE FIRST TIME IN DECADES FOR THE 8AM TRADITIONAL CHURCH SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!! I AM A FORMER STUDENT OF THIS SCHOOL FROM BACK IN THE LATE 1960S TO EARLY 1970S, AND HAVE BEEN STUCK IN EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA FOR YEARS NOW, AND I WAS ABLE, BY THE GRACE OF ALMIGHTY GOD, TO MAKE A VERY SPECIAL THREE DAY COMMEMORATIVE TRIP BACK TO THE LAND OF MY YOUTH, THE GREATER OAKLAND COUNTY AND DETROIT AREA OF MICHIGAN, TO MARK SOME EXTREMELY IMPORTANT PERSONAL ANNIVERSARIES, AND FRANKLY, TO MOURN THE LOSS OF WHOLE WAYS OF LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARCHITECTURALLY SPEAKING, THE CHURCH AND SCHOOL BUILDINGS HAVE BEEN, WELL, LET'S JUST SAY THAT IT WAS VERY HARD TO ACCEPT WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THEM OVER THE YEARS, BUT THE OVERALL EXPERIENCE OF JUST BEING THERE WAS NOT ONLY ASTOUNDING, IT WAS ONE OF THE ABSOLUTE HIGHLIGHTS OF THE TRIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I EVEN MET UP WITH A TEACHER THAT I KNEW WHEN I WAS IN SCHOOL THERE, ONE OF FEW SURVIVORS FROM THOSE OLDEN TIMES A HALF CENTURY AGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The food pantry volunteers are so kind and thoughtful! This place is a blessing during hard times 🧡💜

From my understanding they don't let kids go to this school if there are personal issues with the parent, I myself have no issue but my child's mother does, So why punish the kid? especially after acceptance. Isn't this a place of god? Poor.

We loved this church and its welcoming arms so much that we became members. Very community based and they emphasize the importance of being one Christian family as often as they can. Very happy we found them when we moved here.

St John Lutheran Church and School has been a constant in an ever changing, stressful time. It’s been a true blessing. We were new to the school family for the 2020/2021 school year, yet it felt like we’d been there forever. The staff followed appropriate protocols, listened to students and families, remained transparent and communicated, in real time, important information. And, despite certain confines and challenges, a sense of normalcy was maintained. Truly, a blessing! We will be back next year and are excited for another great school year! 👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼

Was baptized here and attended school for 8 years. The Lord has truly blessed St John over the years with several expansions, great teachers and amazing pastors. The Love of the Risen Savior oozes from its walls and pours out into the Rochester community !!

They have so much for all ages to get involved with
