Nakama Anime Bar

Was visiting from out of town as Jax is my hometown. I finished up for the day and was looking for something local to do before I have to check put and leave tomorrow and a freida recomeded this bar. I saw that they have izakya vibes and was really intrigued and I was not disappointed! It wasn't packed which was perfect for my energy level right now. My bartender was so personable and chatted with me a bit, made AMAZING suggestions bassed on my preferences, and asked subtle inclusive questions that made me feel welcome and included as a visibly queer trans man (Like asking if the name on my card was the name I used). At one point I couldn't decide between two drinks and I asked him to surprise me and when he brought the drink he turned it into a game and had me guess which one it was. This was such a nice, personalized experience! It's a wine bar too so you can try quite a few things more than a regular bar! For someone traveling by myself just looking for a nice local experience I had a perfect time!

I really enjoyed this bar. It seems like a great place for the trending nerds to hang out in a safe space. The bartenders were really nice and the karaoke was fun. The two drinks I had were really good and hit the spot. The atmosphere and vibe was so enjoyable and it was very intimate and I met a lot of cool people. Will be returning again to try more different drinks and sing different songs.

Are you familiar with the concept of "sleeping" on something? If so, youbwill understand my next statement. I have slept on this place. The proprietor brings a history with Crane Ramen (IYKYK). The menu is small but thoughtful AND delicious. His take on Onigiri is WAY better than the description would lead you to believe. TRY IT! The attached karaoke bar is a treat. The playback was a bit buggy at times but the owner IMMEDIATELY took action. We were able to absolutely kill all the songs our hearts could handle. The prices are fantastic, the service we received was above and beyond, the food was killer, and the karaoke was an absolute blast. This guys passion is evident.

Been coming to this bar since 2024. It’s my go-to with an atmosphere that fits my vibe for my love of all things anime. Tony who is one of the bartenders is very welcoming and I enjoy having conversations with him even during less busy hours during the day. Thank you for the great service and yummy drinks ❤️

I enjoyed going to the Nakama Anime Bar with my friend and meeting Mae and I have to say if she were to have a funny pun I would like for it to be "Mae I take your order?" Haha, we both ordered alcohol and got to enjoy the speedy service. Mae was friendly, servant who served us tonight! Got out drinks just in time as I had the Night Sky and even though their were 2 drinks out of order tonight, I still enjoyed it. Definitely, recommend it. Plus, the karaoke is spectacular!

One of the best ways to enjoy a night with friends—and an even better place to make more! Danny makes the bar amazing, keeping everyone in good spirits and the karaoke setup and atmosphere is so confidence inspiring, and that’s saying a lot coming from someone who is nervous to get up there!

I was there for a fashion runway event, but was able to check it out before setup. Having lived in Yokosuka, Japan for two years prior, this was awesome and nostalgic for me. There is just SO MUCH everywhere you look. Split in two, one side is a cool bar with great Japanese-centric drinks, the other side is a smoothie bar with gaming central, complete with microwave and ramen for sale, hosting various gaming systems and some screens playing anime shows. They also sell various Japanese products, mostly gaming/anime related. Very cool for those who like it!
