Westchester Krav Maga

I have been studying with Sensei Vladimir for a while now and I highly recommend this school. I was looking to learn Krav Maga as it seemed to be a very practical martial art for self-defense and to get hands on experience sparring. I also didn't want to go to a school where you just go through the motions and become a black belt. I wanted to feel that I truly made progress and earned my belts though effort and hard training. I definitely get that here. The curriculum here is very organized and there's a lot of structure in the syllabus. I've gained a lot of confidence and every class is a great learning experience!

Sensei Vladimir and the Westchester Krav Maga staff run a friendly, welcoming, top-notch martial arts school. The training is expert, and everyone is impressed by the expertise in which they teach Karate, Krav Maga and Kickboxing. No matter the class, we are all very impressed by their ability to teach all abilities and all levels. The children and adults learn confidence, discipline, self-defense, fitness and camaraderie. I highly recommend this school.

I have trained Martial Arts for over 30 years and I have known and trained Krav Maga alongside Sensei Vlad for the last 13 years. I have met many great Martial Artists, and many great teachers of Martial Arts. Sensei Vlad is the rare breed of being both. I recommended a fellow Karate practitioner to train Krav Maga with Vlad and she absolutely loves it and I was amazed at her self defense improvement after only a few months. Sensei Vlad is also great with kids, perfectly blending the balance of fun and serious learning; and targeting and working with each kid's individual abilities.

Westchester Krav Maga is the ultimate place to learn Krav Maga and Self-Defense. We practice real life scenarios in a controlled and structured setting. The training is expert, and a real work-out. My awareness level, fitness level and self-defense skills have all significantly improved with the expert instructors at Westchester Krav Maga. If I could give 10 stars I would.

I began my training with Sensei Vladimir a month after having a minor surgery, 6 and a half years ago. I was greatly impressed by Sensei Vladimir’s ability to work with me and my condition at the time and tailor private classes to my needs. The Dojo is very welcoming environment. Over time, Shotokan Karate training strengthened both my body and resolve and has been helping me to this day! I wanted to attend a martial arts school that really focused on the traditional art and perfecting technique as well as practical self defense, not one that just focuses on belt promotions. After my first class, I knew I was at the right place. Working with Sensei Vladimir, a vastly experienced martial artist and self-defense instructor, is always a pleasure. He is kind, understanding and encourages his students to push through any obstacles and challenges they may experience, both in and out of the Dojo. While the international standard for Shotokan Karate is rigid, Sensei finds a way to incorporate a variety of exercises and techniques to complement the Kata and Kihon curriculum, such as conditioning, sparring, and self-defense. Every class is a new and challenging learning experience. Over the years, with various health issues popping up, Sensei has been understanding, supportive, and continues to encourage me to push through them. I feel energized during and after every class! Sensei Vladimir has also been training individuals with developmental and/or physical conditions which is incredibly rare and commendable. Their progress and growth is astounding. I’m proud to call Sensei Vladimir my Sensei, mentor and friend.

I have been attending Westchester Krav Maga for the last several months, and I have absolutely loved it. The instructor is incredibly knowledgeable and professional, and he also has a great sense of humor. I have learned something very practical with every single class (e.g. punches, defenses against being choked or grabbed, etc). It has also helped me get back into shape. I postponed coming to my first class initially because I wanted to get back in shape first after a busy stretch of work, but when I eventually went, I realized the key is just to show up. No matter where you are in terms of fitness or experience, you will learn very practical skills, be active, and feel more positive coming out of the class.
