Taking Taekwondo class is by far the best decision I made for my son in his journey as a young man and gaining confidence in himself. He went from this shy boy that never made eye contact and was so quiet to being outspoken and full of self love. He has always been disciplined so I didn’t have to worry about that part but if discipline was a concern, I have no doubt taekwondo would have helped him. With that been said, the right school with the right instructor played a huge role in his growth. Minnesota Star Martial Art lead by Grand Master Franklin with his fun approach to the art kept my son interested In the art and of course the family that my son is a part of at Minnesota Star Martial Art is the bonus that we didn’t expect. It’s always fun to see the kids on their test days nervous but ready to display their skills and the smile on their faces when they graduate is the equivalent of a big raise at work for adults. I personally don’t miss any chance to tell my friends how beneficial martial art could be in their kids lives but especially Taekwondo at Minnesota Star Martial Art. Way to go a grand Master Franklin and his team.

Excellent studio! Instructors and staff go above and beyond to support students in and outside of the dojang. Summer camp has been a blast for kids with all the activities and field trips around the city. My daughter has found self confidence thanks to MN Star!

The WTA dojang in Coon Rapids run by Master Franklin has been an excellent place for my daughter in the past year. The after school program was a convenient option for our family. She got to hang out with like-minded kids and developed what I think will be a life long interest in Tae Kwon Do. It's hard to strike the right balance of fun and discipline but this place accomplishes it. Matt, an after school instructor has also been an excellent influence. If you are looking for an after school program or martial arts classes, I recommend taking a tour of the place. You'll see that they have built a very supportive and fun community.

My 6yo son is in his first year of taekwondo, and he loves it. We've tried other activities for him, but nothing captured his interest until we enrolled him at WTA in Coon Rapids. The environment is incredibly supportive, with each student encouraging each other to succeed. The instructors are patient, and Master Franklin is particularly gifted at interacting and connecting with kids. I'd recommend WTA to anyone without hesitation!

My son started with the community ed program and absolutely LOVED it!! We continued and he earned his next belt. He was so excited. His smile glowed. Master Franklin and his staff are wonderful. I am so happy that my son has found an extra curricular activity that he looks forward to and enjoys.

My daughter has been taking Taekwondo at WTA Coon Rapids for six months. We've had a great experience! I think the instructors do a great job of teaching techniques and concepts, as well as balancing high expectations and encouraging individual improvement. What I like best is that the philosophies of Taekwondo, such as goal setting, manners and respect, extend to outside of the dojo. There have been a lot of things Master Franklin has said in class that have really stuck with my daughter. She is very reserved and cautious, and it has been great to see her strength and confidence improve as a result of our time here.
