Intiwasi Spanish Immersion School

I’m so happy we found Intiwasi—it has truly changed our lives! My daughter absolutely loves going to school every day and enjoys all the wonderful activities they offer. We love it so much that we also send my older son to their camps, and he has a fantastic time there too! The teachers are incredibly caring and welcoming, greeting the children each morning with big smiles and warm hugs. The Spanish immersion program is outstanding—I’m amazed at how quickly non-Spanish-speaking children pick up the language! I highly recommend Intiwasi to any family looking for a nurturing, enriching, and joyful learning environment for their child.

My daughter attended preschool here and it is such a special place. The teachers care so much and their Spanish is well spoken. The community there is so nice- the parents that send their children to Intiwasi are all kind, thoughtful, caring people and it’s priceless to have a great community. So much so that we are considering sending my daughter back for the remainder of her elementary school education.

I am absolutely thrilled with Intiwasi. The staff has been incredibly supportive and helpful, starting with the director, Karina Torres, and extending to anyone I have ever interacted with — everyone at this school really goes the extra mile! I feel so confident in leaving my little ones in their care. I would like to give a special shout-out to Ximena, the lead preschool teacher, who has been nothing short of amazing. Seeing my kids happily walking into school fills me with joy and reassurance. I highly recommend this school!

I couldn't be happier with my daughter's preschool experience. The school provided a rich cultural immersion that goes beyond what you'd typically find in traditional programs. The bilingual curriculum was a standout feature, and it's incredible how much my daughter has learned. The teachers were not just educators; they felt like an extension of our family. They also offer lots of options for camps all throughout the year that are fun filled and my daughter has a total blast! Highly recommend Intiwasi.

Intiwasi is an amazing Spanish Immersion early Elementary/preschool. My daughter has been a part of this wonderful community for over two years when she started at a sister school. The director and all the staff have always been so kind, helpful and nurturing with my daughter. Looking for a school for your child in such a big city as LA can be very stressful and intimidating, but that was never the case with Intiwasi. My daughter enjoys fun educational activities all day, and she already speaks Spanish. In addition to the curriculum, students have dance, music, yoga, gardening and cooking classes. Another huge plus is the delicious homemade food that is served to the students. So grateful that we found this school!

Intiwasi is the type of school I would create in an ideal world. They are loving, creative and child centered. My students attended in a pod during the pandemic while I was teaching Spanish first grade from Zoom. I saw first hand the interactions with the teachers, the safety protocols that were implemented and how truly happy the students were in the environment. I was so impressed that I ended up enrolling my daughter as well. From one day to the next, they welcomed us as a family. I love that the Spanish speaking staff is so diverse. Children are exposed to different Spanish accents and vocabulary from several countries. The teachers are so attuned to what each child needs to blossom. The summer program was amazing! The food is warm, delicious, nutritious. It is truly a special place.

Our 3 year old son George started here in April and has really enjoyed it! He always looks forward to going to school and his day is filled with different activities. He only knew a few spanish words when he started and now he sings in Spanish while on the toilet 🙂 We are excited to see him progress in his Spanish and he has also made some great friends! The staff has been great with him and it seems like they all really care about the kids and enjoy being there. I feel good leaving him there every day and don't think he's ever complained about having a bad day or not wanted to go to school. It's nice too that they have the option for early and late care so if/when we need it, we can drop him off 8-6. And although they have set times/schedules/etc, they are reasonably flexible if you are late, have appointments, vacation, etc. This is helpful for us as we also have a younger one that needs to be dropped off at daycare. The brightwheel app is also convenient for payments, getting updates, pictures, etc. All in all, highly recommend Intiwasi!
