Palm Beach State College

My girlfriend called the admissions office to get see if she could get assistance registering for classes. Unfortunately, I was met by a dismissive JoCarol Bines, an "Admissions specialist" at the Lake Worth campus who hung up on her twice after asking her to explain the process to verify in-state residency. She was excited to attend PBSC and had her classes picked out, but this experience is making her reconsider. I personally attended PBSC in the past and as an alumni, I'm disappointed to see the state of the current admissions office first hand. PBSC, you are better than this! Please help your prospective students instead of dismissing them.

As a returning student, I love the staff here! Admissions, registration, financial aid, are all very easy to communicate with and I always feel comfortable doing so. The Lake Worth campus is the biggest and my favorite. Advisors are helpful and sweet, professors are debatable but the good ones are really nice, and the cafeteria has great options contrary to what i hear. There's breakfast and lunch and several options for both. The line looks daunting but usually goes very quickly, and the employees are very kind. Sometimes the campus isn't really sanitary because I'll see the occasional possum every now and then... but one man's trash is another man's treasure, I think they're cute!

Love PBSC! As an international student 🧑‍🎓 I enjoyed my time there. Amazing teachers. International admission office is great. They helped me a lot.

Does anyone actually review applications at this college? I completed my application over a week ago and have since emailed and left phone messages with no response. Instead of receiving an acceptance confirmation or instructions on how to schedule for the Real Estate Sales Associate Post-Licensing (5493) course, I’ve been getting a series of irrelevant emails. This experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing so far. Could someone please look into my application and let me know the next steps?

The worst nursing program ever.. the dean doesn't care about anything and is always late to do anything she's also a relator so that tells you enough... Legit don't waste ur time and energy on this school that does nothing for its students.

I am writing to bring to your attention an unfortunate experience my girlfriend recently had when she called the front desk for assistance with signing up for classes. Instead of receiving the help she needed, the staff member who answered the phone was dismissive, spoke with a negative attitude, and even raised her voice. As a student seeking education and guidance, she deserves to be treated with patience and respect. Encounters like this not only create unnecessary stress but also reflect poorly on the college’s commitment to supporting its students. I wanted to share this experience so that it may be addressed appropriately. PBSC has a strong reputation for student success, and that lady doesn’t give the best impression of PBSC.

This could be a great local college but it is lacking in basics , such as communication. When you need help, no office seems to know how to help you or which office can help you. Filed formal complaint on a professor due to them not grading final project and never heard back. This lack of grading the project led to a lower grade. I know it was filed correctly but the school chose not to acknowledge it. Of course I reached out to that Professor who never responded. MANY Professors never answer student emails. NEVER. How is this even acceptable, especially for students that take on-line courses. There's no other means to contact them. MANY on-line courses have areas of the program that just don't work. Even after many students complain the course never gets fixed. This also affects grades. When needing to change a time for graduation they have you email the "graduation office". BUT, there is no such office!!! An there's NO ONE that can help with that either. I can say on a positive note that the Dual Enrollment Office is exceptionally helpful! Mrs. Romano is fantastic! There are only a few Professors that I had that are good and a few great. Unfortunately it doesn't seem the Professors are monitored/evaluated the way they should be. Reviews are left for a reason.
