JOY Lake Charles

There are not enough words to properly or eloquently describe how grateful we are for Joy Acton Academy. When it came to education i knew i wanted something different from the traditional school for my daughter. When i found Acton i was immediately excited and then once i met Erin Beth and the other Guides i knew this was going to be the perfect school for our family. All the guides here genuinely love and care for each individual child and strive to provide the best environment!

My husband and I were so grateful to find the Acton model here in Lake Charles! We wanted a place that would foster our daughter to grow by following her interests, experience life lessons that will translate seamlessly into adulthood such as failure being part of the learning process, all while caring about her as a person. Her education is extremely important to us but so is the method in which it is delivered. She has thrived in this environment and it is hugely due to Erin-Beth and her team. I could not speak highly enough of JOY Lake Charles!

From the moment we discovered Joy Lake Charles the entire journey has been filled with wonder, growth, and love. Our son is going on his 4th year as a hero and has grown exceptionally in all ways: academically, mentally/emotionally, and spiritually. Joy teaches foundational human necessities such as conflict resolution, failure as something to be embraced as it’s a catalyst for success, and how to be kind in all things-especially the hard things along side traditional school learning. We have grown as a family as well-as Joy encourages us to reflect on our deepest desires and how we can make those reality. Every guide (teacher) at Joy sees and loves each child as the unique, beautiful creation God made them to be helping them to discover their own journey and how to walk it out. Sending our son to Joy has been one of the best decisions we have ever made and we are forever grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this community.

This is an amazing institution!! For three years, the guides, the children of their family have become very close to me. Despite the fact that I don't speak English. The guides are always in touch and they really try and do a lot for the children and their development. Also, there are many projects from the academy, for example, a children's fair. This is significant for the city as a whole. I like the system of development and education for children. Sincerely recommend

When my husband and I were first introduced to the Acton model we knew we wanted to find a way to make the school possible for our children. If you have ever felt like your child was not created to be put into a one size fits all approach to learning and growth then this is the school for you. When we found out that Erin Beth (who is an amazing person) was starting the school we knew we would be the first in line. Our kids are now on their own Hero's journey to learn and discover who they were created to be. Every child is a genius and Acton Lake Charles and the guides there help them to unlock just what potential they are destined for. As for our kids reviews: Sawyer, "What I like about Acton Academy is I get to play games with my friends!" Lydia, "I love everything!"

Acton Academy is a private school that teaches by learner driven methods and implements useful, relevant, and unique ways of learning. My daughter made the switch as a 4th grader to Acton Academy from public school and we have seen her grow in many areas, especially her confidence level! She is now proficient with technology and I receive regular emails from her. She schedules and attends online meetings with classmates. This school is everything we could have hoped for in a school and I’m grateful that someone opened one in our area!
