International Admissions & Services (IAS) at Western Michigan University

After increasing internasional fees (HIGE) with irrationally huge amount of money, from $25 to $650. They're now forcing us to buy their insurance, GeoBlue, without giving another alternative, which is violating the students' freedom of choice. Last year, when they provided us with PSi, they still gave us a freedom to buy another insurance as long as it meets the minimum criteria. Now, not only they forcing us to buy Geoblue, which is more than double from the PSi, they're also taking our freedom to buy alternative insurance. Otherwise, they'll put our account on hold. It's UNBELIEVABLE!

They have more barrier that fort Knox. All the information is compartmentalized more that an intelligence unit which it makes this office the must bureaucratic, slow and utterly inept of the whole University. It's really astonishing that so many international students attend to WMU having this incapable office, the true apotheosis of ineptitude in WMU.

The worst department at WMU , most of them they have no knowledge about there jobs even in their website they have a few resources and guidance compare to other universities You have to help yourself and read and read and read whether if something related with the immigration so you have to go and read in the USCIS website or something with the university so you have to go and ask and search in the WMU website to make sure the International Office give you the right answer or action. I hope they have a plan to improve!

Shame on the department for forcing us to buy a $636 insurance with no alternatives
