Gulf Coast Community Ministries

My church home in Gulfport,MS supports and endorses this fine organization that serves those who are in need of help in feeding their families.

I am a vegetarian celibate Hindu Buddhist and they had no problem helping me although it was a little bit difficult to keep reminding them to put my name as Vishnu. And they could also allow someone else in our house, a Christian named Megan, picking up food when she has the car. Just like if there were a Christian in India who wanted to get food from a Hindu or a buddhist, it is great that I, as a Hindu Buddhist and Tibetan Buddhist, can also get food. Usually I go door-to-door and ask for food donations and share the Buddhist Dharma, sometimes distributing literature, but this area in the southeastern United States is kind of conservative and there were problems with freedom of religion and officers inequity as to which religions can go door-to-door. I think Gulf Coast Community Ministries has the right idea about what it means living in a diverse world where our religious values are more often similar than not, even though our particular beliefs and understanding at the higher levels when we are in our exclusive religious practice may differ. Our human life is interdependent and if we treat it as such we will all live longer ❤️

Gulf Coast Community Ministries has been serving the needs of the Mississippi Gulf Coast for 18 years, assisting people with food, medical needs and clothing. Our church supports this ministry with numerous volunteers and significant funding. This important and vital ministry meets the physical needs of the vulnerable and offers spiritual care in the name of Jesus.

Gulf Coast Community Ministries is a wonderful organization whose greatest strength is the volunteer staff that serves a hurting community with dignity, love, and compassion. The services offered include a food pantry, clothing closet, medical care, spiritual counseling, prayer, and more.

I've visited this place often this summer and they are very nice and helpful. You have to sign in and wait but it doesn't take long. I like it because the volunteers and very gracious and patient and all smiles. It's a little crowded sometimes but very personable.

This is an excellent place that helps the needy. Great staff!! They even have a medical clinic on certain days!!!!
