Who came up with this "NO ID NO MEAL" at Hillcrest High School the cafeteria manager, principal or the district??? Never heard of it. My stepson told me a couple of months ago that Ms. Moore the cafeteria manager denied him lunch because the lunch line was closed. And on another occasion he left his ID in the gym and a cafeteria worker took his lunch plate. I didn’t believe him until he took this photo in the cafeteria. When did this policy start because it’s not in the handbook??? And why is Greenville County School District allowing this? Also, breakfast and lunch is FREE! This may need to be reported to the State/Federal organizations that fund SC school meals. I’m appalled!!!
My son started mid December, I withdrew him today. With 13 days left. After 3 incidents with his teacher using words like mushy brain and useless to describe my 6 year old with ADHD. The principal of his school was not very helpful. Perhaps if were of a different race and class of people we would have been heard. Would not recommend for active parents of children of color.
Honestly I have mixed feelings about the school district. But as a student that still goes to school I would like to say that any other district would be better than this. To start off would be the phone and dress code policy they’ve enforced. I know school performances have been bad but why should the whole district be punished for another schools bad academic performance? And they care more about attendance than health problems. Even though the school year is almost up, my mother tired to see if I could finish my classes from home (because I have occasional nosebleeds and it’s been happening more frequently than usual) that I CAN’T DO THEM BECAUSE OF MY ATTENDANCE FROM FIRST. Like I will admit I used to be late to class almost everyday but I would have a pass because I ride the bus and our bus never had a regular driver until now and I would always get marked absent, even though I have a bus pass and give it to my teacher. Like is attendance more important than health? I just find that ridiculous in my opinion. Why isn’t there something where if a student has been marked absent so many times that they can appeal it to attendance? Like make it more easy for us because how am I supposed to get proof that I was actually in class?
We had problems all 3 years. When a child ends up with an ulcer because a teacher is abusive emotionally and mentally and they refuse to switch that child's teacher, you realize they just don't care. They will work with you as long as you do things their way. The teachers are just as much bullies as the kids. Honeschool of you love your children. RGS is not a good school.
I’m so disappointed in Greenville County school Dr. W. Burke Royster Superintendent. I’m at my son’s graduation and he informs me that he’s not allowed to wear the Marine Corp. Sash, that was designed to be worn with cap and gown, that was given to him by his recruiter. They told my son if he put on the sash they WILL NOT let him graduate. Not only did he earn his diploma but as an American he has the right to display the sash at his graduation to show his pride in joining the Marine Corps. This should be applauded not discouraged. Shame on you Greenville County Schools.
Had to remove my child from Monarch Elementary due to the principal and poor behavior of office staff. Reached out to district administrators several times and nothing ever happened. Didn’t even receive a call back last time. The principal even had the school resource office come stand next to me at 140lbs in my dress and work heels as an intimidation factor when I asked to speak to him. The ladies up front made fun of my child when she asked to call her mom but didn’t know my number by heart yet. Like other reviews state there is laziness and bullying all through admin.
I am sad to know that we have a school system who allows adults to do as much bullying as the children. I had to take my special needs child out the system because nothing was being done besides being told my son needed to be quiet and just walk away when being shoved into walls in his music instrument. And making it seem as though special needs is a reason to be treated that way and not to deal with the actual bully. Well now I have a counselor from the same school who was taken off his case and assigned to another go back into his files months later and purposely start trying to get things started. It's bad when his Dr reach out because someone who isn't his case worker is asking if he is being taken care of and this is the same woman who had my sons anxiety even worse because of her bad advice and rudeness. And she had to call us to let us know SMH how unprofessional and ignorant is this we are doing fine he is doing fine we are getting him into a chater school but to be harassing us like your concern when you wasn't when we came to you is adult bullying. We are trying to focus on our children and this Maggie lady is not doing her job but instead causing problems that are clearly being handled if even the Dr thought that it was alarming how she is dipping into files that are bit hers anymore looking for trouble. BECK ACADEMY IS THE WORST. It's so many parents with stories like these and they are just as mad. Yell need to do better for the children period us parents don't ask for much just good caring teachers and counselors foe pur children and to be safe at achool not to see our kids harmed and petty adults mad cause they didn't do there job right
