Sylvan Learning of Grand Rapids

Excellent service! We are using Sylvan for PSAT study assistance and shoring up areas that need extra focus. Darcy has been very responsive to our needs, has accomodated our changing schedule and has provided timely feedback on the progress of our student. We are very happy with our time spent at Sylvan.

Sylvan has helped my Greyson tremendously the past 3 months. He’s not only doing better in school but he is much more confident, enjoys school, learning and homework MUCH more than before attending sylvan. The tutors and directors are so welcoming and care about him and his growth almost as much as us parents. They really take their time with him and keep me updated along the journey. They make it enjoyable and fun for him and they remember every student by name and things they like or do. I am so thankful we decided to send him here ❤️

We have been using Sylvan for over a year now and they have helped our daughter tremendously! The small groups and one-on-one sessions have really allowed our daughter to learn in a way that is easy for her and helped build her confidence. The staff is amazing and our daughter LOVES going! Sylvan Learning has been an instrumental educational partner to our family. My daughter utilized their services to advance her math skills to grade level. The initial assessment of her skills and the corresponding recommendation of hours needed to reach her goals was extremely accurate. I am happy to share, she has been excelling in math at school ever since. This year, my 3rd grade son is enrolled and focused on learning to read at grade level. He attends four sessions a week after school. Not only is the methodology effective but they also make it FUN. My son is excited to go even after a long day in school. That is impressive, Sylvan Learning!

Our daughter was in grade 7 when she started with Sylvan 1 year back and at this time she could not comprehend which resulted in low grades in Science. Additionally she only read books which were way below her grade level. She would skip math assignments. A year later she is reading at grade level, loves maths, and brought up her grades to A's and B's because she understood what she did. Sylvan has been great for our daughter. I would highly recommend them. We have now started our son with them too and its amazing how he managed to A's in both his subjects and has got his confidence back and feels so good about himself.

So far, our 15-year-old son is enjoying himself. The staff are flexible, fun, understanding, and willing to work with us. Our son is doing the study skills program this summer, so I have hopes that he is internalizing the information and will be able to really use the skills over the school year. I do feel like it is more of him going through slides and not interacting with the staff as much as I'd wish, and doing it during the school year would probably be more effective than over the summer. We hope to continue during the school year, but things just get so busy it's difficult to carve out a 2-hour block weekly.

Sylvans has been so wonderful from the first meeting to establish a starting point to helping my daughter read and grow confidence in English skill. Eric has been very helpful with all aspect of understanding how the learning courses work. My daughter has thrived in the lessons and enjoys coming back every day. The tutors are very friendly and always engage with my daughter with encouragement and enthusiasm! I would recommend Sylvans.
