The college itself is well organized, clean, and overall great. Instructors are either good or bad. My advice.... Before you register for a class look up the professor. This will make a big difference when it comes to your grades, the college has many nice professors who are easy graders, find them. Your best bet is to talk to people and make use of rate my professor. Some classes you have little choice with the professors and some of these professors are tough, rude, and inconsiderate. But for the most part a lot of them from my experience are actually decent people. As a result, I was able to get an A in pretty much all my classes. No matter what your plans are, your time COD and your experience is dependent on YOU. Make the most of it. Make as many or as few friends as you want. And learn what you can. The college has many benefits so take advantage of them.

Excellent, affordable and reliable. This community college is a gem in the western suburbs located in Dupage County. The variety of programs is amazing. The teachers are very well educated. When applying ask for a waiver code and your application can be free. The pre-requisites to start classes at the college are very flexible. They have a wonderful support system called the learning center. They have free tutors in all classes. They offer financial aid and scholarships. Free GED classes. Advising and counseling is free. Registration can be in person or online. Classes are offered in a variety of offerings, online, hybrid, face to face or in person. What more can you ask for? A great college! Check it out.

One of the worst colleges around. Unprofessional, unknowledgeble, violate federal regulations on a regular basis, chaotic and terribly managed. Try their best to take away your federal financial aid. They do not care about students or their success one bit; all they care about is their enrollment numbers, status and the huge amounts of money pouring in. Faculty are regularly rude with bad attitudes and abuse their positions of power for their own benefit. On top of that, they do not accomodate for students with disabilities as they should, and also do not accomodate for the large enrollment numbers. Routinely put students in uncomfortable and distressing situations due to their lack of care, planning and refusal to fund necessary improvements. And then when you make a formal complaint to administration they collaborate with each other and just pass you around between department directors, giving exactly zero attention to your frustrations. They just truly do not care about the students. And all of this is without even addressing the poor quality of academics that's provided for students. I believe this school should really be investigated by the Deparment of Education for its corrupt conduct and practices, and totally do not recommend it to anyone looking for a meaningful education experience.

This is an absolutely horrible place they’re very unorganized and have no clue what’s going on. The management and staff are more confused than the students are. Just go to Harper. Rather than contacting advising, which is already long and tough process to go through, just stand in the hallways, ask around and find a student that’s taking the program you want to do, ask them what courses and steps you need to take to get into that program. These advisors aren’t trained to answer or even comprehend what you’re talking about. Their printing system is absolutely terrible and a headache to deal with. I would rather drive 20 minutes to Glenside public library to print my papers then come back than to deal with their printers. Just a terrible school overall. Like I said before just go to Harper or Elgin community college don’t even try and waste you’re time here.

I haven’t had an issue with a professor yet but the counselors have absolutely no idea what to do when you go to them about courses to take when wanting to transfer from COD to a 4 year university. Like, the lights are on but nobody is home type of vibe from all of them. They waste an hour of your time to tell you something that you could’ve found on google. It’s extremely upsetting and unprofessional to say the least.

Current student at COD, just got off the phone with the records department. The lady had an attitude the whole call. "Couldn’t you just look it up on blackboard." I informed her I couldn’t find the dates and she was giving me sarcastic sighs and short tempered answers. I said thank you though she was being rude and she simply said "ok bye." SO UNPROFESSIONAL. Enrolling at this school was so frustrating and felt so unwelcome. My professors, courses and Wendy (advisor) are incredible. But the rudeness I’ve gotten from the records department, enrollment and other staff members is ridiculous and ruins the experience. I’m getting so fed up.

Don’t go here!! Fraud! They don’t care to do background check on people. Someone used my personal information to take out a student loan from here! Ruining my credit score! Have yet to discharge! It’s pathetic instead of trying to figure out who did this or what student?. I have to go through all these loops and jump to actually proof that I am who I say I am, but somehow someone can just get a 5000$ loan without proof???. Who’s sign???. Someone needs to answer for this. Please help
