True Food Kitchen

I want to tell you about the uncomfortable and terrible bad experience we had at this restaurant. I went with a group of friends to celebrate our birthday today, and the waitress was very nice at first, very attentive as we ordered. When we were still eating the food, she brought us the check without asking for it. We also ordered a drink and she left the check on the table. After a while, she arrived and said, "Here I left the check." We also told her that we wanted to order dessert, and she said we hadn’t paid yet while she took the check back and brought us the menu. She also kept coming around asking us if we were ready to order dessert while we were still eating. Logically, if you see someone who hasn’t finished their meal, how are you going to pester and insist, that they order dessert? We ended up ordering it so she would leave us alone. After a while she came back and told us that she had to go on break and glances at the check as if to say, ‘pay now,’ but we hadn't even finished yet. We told her, sure. Then another person arrived and tells us, "My partner, she had to go because she had an emergency with her mother. I will assist you…" I asked her to change the coffee we had ordered to have with dessert. By the way, let me tell you how horrible the coffee they serve is. It has an old, acidic taste and disgusting flavor. I have never tried coffee as horrid this bad in my life. Later on, the girl who initially served us comes back and asks us if we are going to order something else? We told her no, that we were eating dessert. She stands there for a couple seconds and looks at us and looks at check again, as if to say, pay us and leave! I have never been this uncomfortable in a restaurant EVER. I do NOT recommend this restaurant. It left us with a bad taste in our mouths after that terrible experience. Are you going to leave your money in place to eat to be treated this way? No! The food was not that great, the service was mid, the atmosphere horrible! Don’t go to this horrible place to spend your money. Now I understand why it’s always empty because the service is terrible!!

Lunch on a Saturday. Our server Anthony was very friendly and helpful. Started off with pomegranate mimosas and those were great! For an appetizer we tried the cauliflower. Good flavor but felt the portion was a little small for the price. Ordered lasagna for the entree and we enjoyed that very much. Wasn't overly cheesy and the cool side of pesto was a nice balance to the hot entree. Dessert was the seasonal pie which was just okay. Fall flavor was there but it felt more like an unbaked dessert as opposed to a pie in the normal sense which is what we were expecting. I would still recommend this place for those who enjoy healthier food options or those with allergies.

I’ve always had great experiences at True Kitchen in Gaithersburg, including celebrating my birthday dinner there with my lovely friends. The servers are consistently attentive, and the atmosphere is welcoming — my friend and I have been regulars there for some time. On one particular visit, we had a standout interaction with someone who was introduced to us as one of the managers. I’m not sure if he’s still there or still in that role, but his name was Ethan, and his hospitality truly went above and beyond. Despite a slightly longer wait for our food, he was warm, kind, and attentive, making sure we were well taken care of. He even offered a complimentary sweet treat, which was such a thoughtful gesture. It was a genuinely memorable experience and a great example of what hospitality should look like.

The food was absolutely delicious — I enjoyed every dish we ordered. A big plus was the excellent service from Ava very kind, attentive, and always smiling. I’ll definitely be coming back soon.

Great place to have some healthy but still very delicious food which is usually a hard combination to find. The place is very bright and beautiful. Great location with tons of parking around it. The staff were flexible to switch stuff and tailor it to our needs. The grilled salmon , both on the salad and as a main course was very juicy and the roasted veggies toasted just right. The only reason I give 4 stars for the service is because the nice restrooms were a little messy. Will definitely go there again soon.

Ok. This was different but we actually liked the order, we ordered the butternut squash pizza it could have used a little more flavor but it was still good, the sourdough bread crust was nice and soft that's a 10

It's a great place with a whole variety of food nice staff and greate vibes. Ava helped us and she was so sweet and friendly
