Montgomery County Kung Fu

I took a intro session last week Tuesday, 28 Oct 2025, and was blown away. I'm surprised no one has written anything for the past 5 years, but Mike Lin, the current Sifu, is a master of Wing Chun, in the authentic Moy Yat lineage, Ip Man's final student. You can trace the lineage and Sifu's directly back to Ip Man. So.. if you're looking for authentic, properly taught, Wing Chun, this is where you should go! Looking to join in a few months, my wife is giving birth in a week's time!

I feel very fortunate to have found Sifu Brad at Montgomery County Kung Fu. Sifu Brad is focused on teaching authentic Ving Tsun (Wing Chun) Kung Fu as was passed down to him from his Sifu and so on. The training environment is relaxed yet structured so that students get quality training from the start of class to the end. Martial artists of all levels are welcome at this school and beginners with no experience will quickly learn practical self defense. The school is located in the Kentlands shopping center in Gaithersburg and is just a short drive from Rockville, North Potomac, and Germantown. The lessons I've learned here go beyond physical Kung Fu and have permeated into my everyday life. I highly recommend you stop by for an introductory class!

I would highly recommend Ving Tsun to both seasoned martial artists and those who have never trained before. Sifu Brad is incredibly talented at working with each student at each of their individual levels. He provides the right levels of challenge and encouragement. The training environment is significantly different from regimens commonly encountered in Karate or Tae Kwon Do training, taking more of a community or even family approach. When I talk about my fellow classmates, I refer to them as my Kung Fu brothers and sisters.

Sifu Brad provides an excellent training environment. During COVID, his online classes are intense, and I feel like I get the most possible out of training, even while training virtually. I can't wait until classes return to in person.

It's not your typical belt achieving martial arts. It's self paced. This is the one thing my kid loves. Doesn't like any other sport, but loves this. It's technical and requires precision but it happens over time. Great teachers (sifu).

This place is the real deal. If you want to learn usable self defense skills quickly go here. Stick with it and it will change your life for the better. The training is challenging but doable and the people are chill and supportive.

Genuine Kung Fu without any watered down politics, just solid training of effective self defense. This is the kind of school where lives are changed.
