Kyuki-Do Martial Arts of Elgin

My son Karthik has been attending Kyuki-Do in Elgin for a few years now, and the improvement we’ve seen in him has been truly incredible. Not only has he become physically stronger, but his focus, confidence, and self-discipline have grown tremendously. We see these changes not just in class, but also at home and at school — he listens better, stays committed to tasks, and carries himself with a newfound sense of responsibility. The instructors (Master Kim, Mr Berg, Mrs Berg) at Kyuki-Do Elgin deserve a lot of credit. They create a positive, structured, and motivating environment where kids feel supported yet challenged. They know how to push students to do their best while still making the experience fun and engaging. Karthik looks forward to every class, and that says a lot about the quality of teaching and the atmosphere they foster. We’re very grateful for the impact this program has had on him and for the values it continues to instill. For any parent looking for a place where their child can grow mentally, physically, and emotionally, I highly recommend Kyuki-Do Elgin.

I can’t say enough about how much we LOVE the community, confidence, and skills Kyuki-Do has brought to our family! We began our journey about three years ago — my husband, our son, and myself — and it’s been an incredible experience for all of us. The transformation in our son has been especially remarkable. He needed a little help building strength and coordination, and his progress in the dojang has far exceeded what we’ve seen in the school’s program. His body awareness, motor skills, and confidence have grown tremendously. The training is not only effective but also fun and motivating. There’s such a wonderful mix of ages and abilities — proving it’s never too late to start training! Every instructor brings something unique to the table, and we continue to learn something new every time we step onto the mat. We highly recommend Kyuki-Do. The instructors, community, and energy here are outstanding — you won’t be disappointed!

Kyuki-Do has been an excellent addition to our kid's extracurricular activities. The leadership is excellent and the skills taught are shared with thoughtfulness, compassion and with the right amount of firmness. It's helping to build self-confidence and resilience in our kiddo. Our family has had a great experience at Kyuki-Do Martial Arts of Elgin. My son started 7 years ago when he was 4 and is now working towards his 2nd Dan. My husband and daughter have since joined and it has been a very rewarding journey for them to do this together as a family. It has done wonders for the kids’ confidence and a great way for the whole family to stay active. The instructors are all great and they offer lots of flexible times. Highly recommend!

We enrolled Timur in Kyuki-Do in 2023, and it has been an amazing journey. The program is structured, supportive, and truly tailored for young learners. Over the years, Timur has learned discipline, self-control, and respect skills that carry over into school and at home. He’s also become physically stronger, more coordinated, and more confident in himself. The instructors are fantastic with kids and always find the perfect balance between fun and focus. Now at 7, Timur is proud of how far he’s come, and so are we. I highly recommend this school to any parent looking for a positive, meaningful activity for their child.

My 7 yr old grandson started taking classes at Kyuki Do Elgin and loves it! All the staff and instructors are very knowledgeable and great with kids! It’s a very fun but disciplined environment which makes it easy to learn the craft. My grandson looks forward to his classes every week.
