University of Colorado Denver

Was attempting to transfer and had a few questions but just kept getting referred to email different people/professors/advisors and most wouldn't respond and the others said they didn't know. Also tried calling and talking to someone but was then told to email people again. huhhh?? Seems like the teachers are awesome but there is total disregard for potential students.

Most ill-equipped city university I have seen. Financial aide is sketchy and not transparent. Even with financial aide and FAFSA I have to work 2 jobs to pay off the remainder of the cost. Don't bother bringing your car here use public transport you're better off. Its $500 monthly for a student parking pass. Food options are terrible in dining halls and 3rd party businesses operate on campus not letting students use their Flex Cash or meal swipes when other colleges nationwide do. Also there's no NCAA sports programs here. Professors are also jaded but I personally would be too. I am getting my degree here though, and Denver in itself is an interesting place to be. This place is okay if you don't have any other choice and trying to get into the medical or pharmacy school.

I obtained both my undergraduate and graduate degrees from this institution. This school offers exceptional value in terms of cost!

It's a great school, great programs and affordable! As long as you are not shy to ask for help, they will give you the resources that you need. It's also in downtown so it's super convenient to go anywhere, a lot of activities. A lot of options for food. (The Market on Larimer street has the best hot cocoa - as long as Ernie and Jose makes it!)

The university is open on Columbus Day while all federal offices and many state offices, as well as private buildings, are closed because Colorado does not recognize Columbus Day as a state holiday anymore? That does not make any sense.

I was excited to transfer to CU Denver, but I had to take a semester off because of my children. Excited to go back for the spring semester, it was quickly destroyed by the enormous amounts of hoops I’ve had to jump just to register. I’ve spent every day being bounced from one department to another and after two weeks of desperately trying to register and when my advisors finally could push through my paperwork, I’m now met with financial aid obstacles. I know of three other people who have gone through ridiculous obstacles when registering. Please fix these problems, it should not be this difficult to register.
