Orange Coast College

Orange Coast College (OCC) is a great place for anyone who wants to learn and enhance their skills. They have a many course offerings and very convenient schedules. The subjects are relevant to the current business environment and can help an individual to become job ready. Our experience with their Adult Education team is fantastic! They are very prompt in responding to queries and are very student centric. Ms Sara Martinez, Jose Castrejon, Mindy, Abby, Karen & Richard are excellent. Whether its getting access to books and study resources or getting guidance regarding the logistics, the entire team is always ready to help. Recently I met a 63 year old student who had just got his certificate of completion after finishing the Patient Aide Program and he shared his positive experience with the Adult Education department. They are a living example of the OCC motto 'We'll help you get there'. I highly recommend OCC.

Orange Coast College is an amazing institution! The teaching staff is incredibly knowledgeable in their fields and truly dedicated to student success. The programs are well-structured, and the college offers some of the most advanced certifications available in Southern California. I highly recommend OCC to anyone looking to further their education and career with a supportive and forward-thinking community.

The administrative staff I’ve had the displeasure of dealing with at the school are not very competent, are cynical and downright rude, including the financial aid office staff and the admissions and records staff. If you ever want to know what the rest of your experience will be like at an institution, always see what your interactions are like. The lack of accountability, empathy and helpfulness are all you need to know. They try to profit off shoddily built housing for students at exorbitant prices. Just remember, education is a business, and if they don’t run a good business, students (customers) can take their business elsewhere.

Visited on a Saturday for a licensing exam. Looks like a big campus and lots of parking spaces.

Very nice campus a lot of new buildings and looks some new construction starting.

I came here to get certified for a new profession. I paid $800 to take this course and $400 for course equipment. One professor was a perfectionist, unhelpful, and disrespectful. Instead of studying for three months and getting certified, 80% of the class and I failed. I felt cheated out of my money. Midway through another course, the security threatened to arrest me for carrying a knife. They don't have signs prohibiting knives, you're just supposed to magically know. They treated me as though I intended on using that knife to kill people. I used that knife to cut plastic wrap, tape, and food. Almost paid a lawyer $1,000 to come to the school. After failing that course, I met with administration to discuss my performance. They asked how I wanted to proceed. I said I never wish to return. I had two other professors here. Both I had no issues with.

A place to excel. Great grounds and faculty. I’m glad I attended OCC for two years before transferring to Tulane.
