Chula Vista Elementary School District

Incredibly disappointed with the district & how they handled a situation with my child. So many calls ( hours of conversations), so many " I'll get you the information you are requesting " , and absolutely nothing in my hand after over a month. I even went to file a formal complaint at the district office. Same with the principal at Hilltop Elementary. I requested something from him twice, and no follow up. Sad I have to make this public review.

We love this district, the schools, and the teachers here. But we were very disappointed with how TK enrollment was handled. Our youngest lost the lottery and cannot attend TK at his home school with his older sister. While I understand that TK is impacted, I’m astounded that siblings weren’t considered when the lottery was conducted. Not only will we have to drive them to separate schools for a year, but we will also deal with a whole new transition again when he begins kindergarten. We really need the district to keep our family together. And we hope that the district adjusts their polices so that families in future years don’t have to struggle with the same issue.

Nice and clean. Staff isn't rude.

This is about CVES bus drivers, some are reckless and speed down residential streets, they don’t follow traffic laws, drive in the middle of the street, and flee accidents that they cause! How can they be entrusted to drive your children?! I saw another review (on Yelp) where a CVES bus driver almost hit several cars, and the driver got into a screaming match with parents! How are they getting away with this??!! Zero accountability!

Seems like the front desk has new people that try to answer my questions! They seem like they care!
