Good for price Review: 8/10 I just wish they did a little better at explaining how to navigate, we had to figure out as we went on. The spa had a unisex area and gender separated areas. In the unisex area everyone is wearing the provided uniform (top and mid length shorts). It had 7(?) rooms ranging from 43 degrees to 161 degrees. There was only one cold room called the ice room. The hot rooms were made of various materials designed to remove toxins from the body— clay, amethyst, salt, and more. In the middle of the rooms was a large area with mats and pillows so you could rest in regular room temp if you needed a break. There was also a juice bar (which had smoothies ($8.5), boba ($8), ice cream, and ramen ($7.5+)) and restaurant serving full Korean dishes. The gender-separated area was the locker room and pool area. In the pool area you have to wear a swimsuit or go nude. It featured standing showers, sitting showers, sunflower shower, dry sauna, steam sauna, and 4 different pools from 75-101 degrees. The largest pool had various seats that had jets on them. I stayed for around 6.5 hours. We felt really good afterwards and got dinner at a 24/7 restaurant in the plaza. I really enjoyed the experience and would definitely like to do it once a month or every other month.
NoVA has 2 big Korean spas- Spa World the OG and King Spa the big new one. Spa World is smaller and I feel more traditonal cultural vibes- like the ornate stone ceiling in the amethyst room. It is peaceful, with 5-6 rooms of varying heat and a cold room. The common space in the center for chilling and napping and reading has a fountain and feels like a nice communal space. King Spa has a back corner blocked off as a designated quiet area with reclined couches, no mats and blocks on floor. Some changes have been made to Spa World in recent years since I first started coming 15yrs ago- there are benches in most of the rooms for those that cannot sit or lay on floor, so a good accomodation for those with a bad back. Also and its a big one- they allow swim suits in the gender separated wet pool areas. Previously they were strict about no swimsuits, nude only, so disregard old reviews on that front. So for shy friends, they can now go to the spa with you without being nude, except for the brief moments changing by the locker in and out of clothes. And then you get into your spa uniform for coed section, the t-shirt long shorts combo. But at end of the day the two BIG differences between Spa World and King Spa- Spa World with a groupon is HALF the admission cost (yay!), restaurant is FAR superior (yay!), but because it is also much older, King Spa wins for new/renovated feel (for example, no exposed ceiling panels). If you can, try both- but if I had to pick one, I like the peaceful and cozy vibes of Spa World over the sleek and large King Spa. P.s. don't dismiss the salad at the Spa World Korean restaurant..it was a large portion and a great ginger carrot vinegrette! And outstanding kimbap!
Went yesterday and had such a relaxing day after such a stressful month! A wonderful place to unwind, regain your composure and find yourself immersed in peace and quiet and relaxation. Clean facility with very helpful faculty. Keep in mind that there is nudity in the sauna areas for the women but you can also wear a bathing suit if you're modest. I would recommend this place. I think it's probably better to go during the week when there's less people but you never know. The food was very good as well I had the spicy beef soup as I was getting over being sick and it really hit the spot! If you can catch this on a Groupon it's even better! Probably very fun to go there with a couple of girlfriends I happen to go alone but I am planning on returning, this time I think I'll bring a friend with me. It's a very cool experience if you haven't done it before.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely love Spa World! It’s the perfect place to relax and recharge — spotless, peaceful, and beautifully maintained. The Bade pool, saunas, and poultice rooms are amazing, and the gender-separated areas make it super comfortable. Staff are friendly and professional. I left feeling refreshed, calm, and glowing. Can’t wait to go back! 💛🧖♀️
I used to come here all the time, but after many visits where I noticed it was going downhill, I stopped coming. BUT I decided to give it one more try after deciding that I didn't want to drive super far to another spa to have a relaxing day. I came on a Thursday morning and noticed immediately that the entrance was very clean; the young lady at check in was pleasant. The locker room was very clean too, as was the bathroom there. Of course this is an older establishment, so it could use some upgrading. The bade area was clean and each shower had shampoo and soap. Two of the pools were closed for some reason, and the steam room was WAY too hot. I couldn't enjoy myself in there, so I had to pass on that. The main area was clean and quiet and the furniture was in good shape. The saunas could use some TLC, but they weren't horrible. I had a great time relaxing! Restaurant was clean, service was friendly and the food was tasty. I'll be planning my next visit soon! 😊
Closest Korean Day Spa to me where I can get the cheapest deal for the day on Groupon.com. I literally paid $27 for the entire day for this spa and still go and come out feeling completely relaxed and refreshed. I have yet to be there over 5 hours and not spend a ton of time in each area. The food wasnt too expensive compared to the other Korean Spas I visited. Also, they offer a Birthday Promotion that allows you a free pass on your birthday with a paid admission. Have your friends or family take you to the spa for the day and you wont have to worry about admission.
I have been coming to Spa World for years because it used to feel like a true spa environment. It was quiet, respectful, and focused on relaxation. Recently, with the more relaxed swimsuit policy, the atmosphere feels noticeably different. Today there were two separate groups of girls taking photos inside the locker room area. That is a private space where people are changing and bathing. No one should have to worry about being photographed there. The shift in policy seems to be attracting a more social media focused crowd rather than people seeking a traditional spa experience. I hope management takes privacy seriously and strictly enforces a no photography rule in locker rooms. Guests should feel safe and comfortable at all times.
