BOCES Cosmetology School

Had worst experience ever. worst school. I didn't know that without knowing how to cut hair they open a school. Who is giving training she doesn't even know about anything. also those students are so dumb. They ruin my long hair. can't tell how much hurt I was. They just do experiments on my hair and nails. If they don't know anything they could let me know. How they can just ruin someone's hair😞

Attended a computer oriented training here years ago. Went well however no job ever came of it. Recently entertained another field I thought had more potential. Instead of being offered training, I got a standardized test with high school level math and reading, and a "law school" type of approach to who they will accept into the program. This place has changed, not sure it ever was good for anything other than blue collar trades. I did not get a good impression and discontinued pursuing the education. If you decide to attend an orientation, make sure you are brushed up on geometry, algebra and reading comprehension.

Medical Office Assistant Student ********HIGHLY RECOMMEND********** The front end staff are very friendly and helpful. Im greeted with a smile every morning which is really nice. The instructor for this program is one of the best instructors I have ever had. Very positive, upbeat, and makes us excited about working in healthcare. Her many years of experiece working in healthcare is very insightful. She goes above and beyond, making herself available daily, before and after class, for any student that needs help. She encourages us to regularly challenge ourselves and go above what is expected of us. I enjoy coming to class and learning new and useful information about my future in healthcare. I'm really excited to go out and utilize the new health care skills, compassion, and professionalism I have learned at Erie 1Boces!

This school opened their arms to me to help me achieve my dream of being able to help people feel better about themselves. I struggled with my appearance for so many years and seeing my stylist always made me feel better. After a lot of weight loss and such I decided that I was healthy enough to stand all day and hopefully help people that felt like I used to, feel better about themselves when they left my chair. After a very poor experience at a school where I paid almost 20k I found this boces program to finish my last 80 hours of training. The total cost of this program is almost a third of what I paid at TSPA! I highly recommend this option before one of the fancy places that won’t even allow you to use color on your mannequin - boces encourages your creativity and provides the products needed! The instructors are thorough and warm and friendly!

I'm about to start my 3rd week here taking Medical Office Assistant training and I LOVE my instructor Suzy!

Love the Teacher Ms. DUFFY she is a staple for the students and the clients and always makes sure I walk out beyond satisfied!

The staff including the supervisor are extremely rude and unhelpful. Very unorganized/chaotic. Don't waste your money go anywhere else.
