Intercambio Uniting Communities

Intercambio offered me the confidence and the tools to teach English. As a volunteer teacher, you get substantial support by having the lessons already structured, so that you don't have to worry about coming up with your own lessons. That saves a lot of time for someone who is also working a full time job. The Intercambio ESL curriculum is great. The lessons are structured in a way that covers life skills, culture tips and grammar. Many of the lessons strike up very rich and interesting conversations between my student and I.

As a volunteer teacher I love the connection I have with each of my students. To see each student's dedication to learning the English language and connect with other members of their community has been one of my best rewards through this experience. The staff at Intercambio have made this experience a simply yet rewarding one.

This organization brings a vast and unique range of services to local communities. Offering in-depth and high quality ESL classes, Intercambio's programs not only present accessible and practical opportunities to learn the English language, but also build much needed bridges between local communities and across cultures through fun and inspiring interactive events. Great opportunities to learn, connect, teach and volunteer! I highly recommend Intercambio.

I joined intercambio to improve my English because of the offer and the incredible cheap price. I found teachers that were giving everything from their HEART, connecting with the students, becoming a close-friendly support. I found the staff as totally givers. Completely involved in giving service, making all their students feel welcome and supported. I found activities organized with the only intention to create community. I found a great family and I still had the chance to work with them for nearly one year. Opportunity which was very supportive for me at that time. I actually work for the YMCA as a wellness coach and I am still in touch with Intercambio community so I can volunteer and give back at least some of what I received. Thank you to all Intercambio Volunteer and Staff members!!!! What a team and what a familiy

Intercambio Uniting Communities is one of the most welcoming, energetic, and helpful non-profits in Boulder. They are masters at bringing people together, teaching English, providing cultural awareness, and creating community with all types of people. We enjoy their social events, conversation classes, and teaching opportunities. If you are looking for a place to get involved in the Boulder community, Intercambio is the perfect place.

Intercambio is a great organization that is working to not only empower immigrants through English language classes but also to strengthen the community through building cross-cultural connection. I'm fortunate to live in a community that is impacted by Intercambio, and really lucky to be part of the team!

As a former Spanish teacher and experienced ESL teacher Intercambio is committed to effective ESL curriculum development and implementation. Their staff works with you and your schedule to get you teaching English in one-on-one and group class settings as fast as possible in a setting where the students are really learning and developing their second (and sometimes third or fourth) language skills that they are using on a daily basis in Colorado.
