My mom went there she said she loves it so i'm considering going because it's an HBCU I'm so EXCITED!!!!!

THE SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY AND A & M COLLEGE IS THE MOST AWESOME HBCU!

My heart is broken. I really wanted to attend Southern University as I've heard that their nursing program is great especially for young black aspiring nurses. I ended up getting in to Southern, and I planned on transferring from my current university to attend. However, that would be a grave mistake because their lack of communication is absolutely abysmal. It took 5 months and over 50 emails back and forth for my application to be reviewed. I had to send my transcripts to the school over SEVEN times for some reason. I've never had that problem with any other school. Once I was finally accepted and able to enroll in classes, they dropped me from my summer classes because I didn't pay. However, I was unable to enroll in a payment plan because their system did not allow me to for some reason. I've called every number and emailed every person to get the issue resolved, and I was met with crickets. What an absolute waste of my 6 months when I could've been applying to better schools who care for their students more. What this institution is doing to their aspiring students is an embarrassment to HBCUs and higher education as a whole.
