Getting to this place from the street may need some directions. The best approach is through Andrew Young International Blvd. There is a inset lane that leads the space between different towers. Take this lake with markings saying "Hub Entry Plaza" and turn right and you will see Tower 229 on the right. Ask the receptionist for floor details. The front desk receptionist receiving the application was very helpful and informative and is patient to answer any queries. So far had a very nice experience contrary to reviews. I hope my visa arrives on time. Crossing fingers. Their website gives good detail of documents required (both general and visa specific) so I had no problem. For notarized passport copy only first page is required. Detailed page copies were not needed in my case.
Quick n fast. No digital payment accepted. (Cash only) There’s AMT near by, but be aware! The waiting time for the pickup was a month (no email or text mesg for the time to pick up.)
Super inconveniently located. No designated parking lot. It is hidden in one of the suite buildings without any signs - like good luck on finding it. They made me bring a prepaid USPS express envelope for the postal service, but the closest USPS closes at 2-3pm for lunch. By the time you are done, you were hit with the traffic on the way back. I can see how much people were fed up by inconvenience of getting physically there already.
Rude, unprofessional, and unhelpful. I asked for help finding a family document and gave them the relevant information, asking if they would be able to assist. A simple no we cannot would have been fine, but the individual instead responded in an incredibly unprofessional manner. I went to Korea and got the document using exactly what I provided them, it took under 2 minutes.
Unfriendly booth staff except a receptionist, like people in Korea, federal or state building, a man we dealt was tried to be authoritative with no reason. It is an awkward location downtown with pricy parking fees. If they can do this at Ktown in Duluth, we will be more friendly and efficient.
The worst service I have ever encountered! I called for some information. The answering machine gave me 2 options for language, then 2 options for depts: #1 for civil affairs and #0 for consulate general matters. The operator from the consulate general affairs dept transferred me to a man. He seemed informative; however, it was hard for me to have him listen to what I was looking for. He corrected me each time I said something wrong to his knowledge rather than patiently listening to what I was trying to say. He then directed me to call the dept for a birth repot and said to click #3. I explained that there was no option #3 for me to click when I called the number, but he just kept saying like, "Just hit #3. This is not a birth report dept. I don't work there, and that is not what I do," as if he is done as far as his job goes and he wants to get rid of me. After many attempts to find this option #3 that the staff on the phone tried to tell me, I finally got a girl from the other dept who explained that I needed to just hit Ext# 112 right after choosing the dept option. All these chaos… if only the 1st person on the phone had listened to a citizen (for whom they’re thinking they’re serving) and if he/she was well aware of how their stupid answering machine operates, this wouldn’t happen in the first place. It doesn’t matter whether you’re working for companies or government. We’re all serving someone as long as we are sitting on a chair for the job we’re hired for. How people will view a company or an organization as a whole depends on how the workers are with customers. I’ve dealt with staff at embassies from different states since I moved to the US, but I have NEVER been treated this way in my entire life being in the US until now.
The service is consistently awful. I called this morning and left a message because no one answered, and the line was always busy. A few hours later, I got a text with just a single link, as if they think all the information is provided there. I never received a call back, so I emailed again with a question, but the response was unbearable - I could sense the attitude through the email. Do they really have only one agent handling calls? It’s nearly impossible to reach anyone, and when I do, their attitude is intolerable. Every interaction is frustrating.
