My daughter joined Sun Soo as a mighty tiger. She wasn't the strongest in her class by any stretch, so eventually we pulled her out. But years later she begged us to come back and keep going. So we pulled the money together and got her back in it about 5 months ago. This past weekend she passed her first testing from white belt to white/yellow stripe. As a father that knows very little about martial arts, I gotta say, not only could I not have felt more proud of her determination, commitment and sheer fortitude to be able to be strong enough and push through her fears and get thru the event (it absolutely would have been daunting for an adult to push through with so many peers and spectators watching and so much expectation & pressure). But that the event itself was SO supportive and focused on building up the one thing missing in all our lives — being able to do something legitimately challenging, that tests your will, commitment and fortitude and even in perceived failure supportively pulls you up, and calmly reinforces that you're okay, failure is okay, you can do it, just keep going — all with the roar of a supportive crowd of peers and specators cheering you on. I can't tell you how many times I got choked up. Watching the boy fail at breaking the board 2 times and then through support and the will of the group break it the 3rd was truly indescribable. I genuinely wish I had been part of something like it when I was growing up — a place to build both character and confidence that's both challenging and lovingly supportive. Massive gratitude to my daughter for sticking with it and insisting on going back. Massive gratitude to Sun Soo and the entire Sun Soo staff for being so insanely excellent and offering such a supportive community and powerful opportunity that I'm so grateful we're now part of. Our whole family was practicing Chon-Ji first half (taught by my 8 year old daughter) all weekend. Hahhah. I can't recommend it enough to anyone considering it!! Thanks all!!

I cannot express how amazing Sun Soo has been for our family. My son (Mighty Lion/Tiger) struggles with gross motor coordination and attention issues and I’ve seen such a difference in him!! Every instructor is so special and wonderful with the kids. They are encouraging, patient, kind, and just wonderful. Shout out to Master Marshall, Master Mama Jacques, and Mr. Spector for being my son’s favorite instructors! This place is a true gem and a pillar to our community! Not only are they teaching Martial Arts, they are teaching about character and how to be a contributing member to our community. Highly recommend Sun Soo for anyone!

As a parent of two children that have participated in Sun Soo classes, afterschool, camps, and parents night out; I cannot express my gratitude enough for this community of people. The classes not only teach the practice of martial arts but also emphasize important principle such as integrity and perseverance. The staff are professional, kind, and work endlessly to ensure each child feels accepted into the community. They provide a safe environment that allow my children the ability to grow and thrive in a supportive, caring manner.

Thank goodness for Sun Soo! Not only do they have a great aftercare program, they also allow for drop in care on snow days like today when all the schools are closed. My son is a practicing student and has a ton of fun when he gets to spend the day there. They also make sure he gets a class in as well before pick up. We are so grateful for this community!!

Sun Soo we adore the Mighty Tigers and Lions class! This intro class teaches 3-5 yr olds TKD but also develops their character to be leaders and demonstrate respect. It has helped my preschooler in every aspect of life. We will definitely be back!

My son has been practicing at Sun Soo for 5 years and it is so much more than a place to learn martial Arts. Master Morris and his instructors focus on the importance of setting goals, striving for excellence, never giving up, being a leader and helping those in need. Over the years, I truly feel like Sun Soo has become an extension of our family. The environment is extraordinarily supportive and encouraging and that spirit is visible through everyone who attends classes here. My son has become an excellent martial artist, but more importantly he has learned life skills that has helped him become a better version of himself. Thank you Sun Soo team!

Our son has been attending both the afterschool program and Tae Kwon Do classes at Sun Soo Martial Arts, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the experience. The instructors and staff do an incredible job of not only teaching martial arts but also instilling strong character, discipline, and confidence in their students. The afterschool program goes beyond just supervision—it actively encourages good habits, respect, and responsibility while also providing academic support. The structure and positive reinforcement at Sun Soo have had a noticeable impact on our son’s behavior and mindset, and we’re grateful for the values they emphasize. If you’re looking for a place that truly cares about your child’s development both physically and mentally, Sun Soo Martial Arts is an excellent choice. Highly recommended!
