Cash only is a drawback. Lots of imported Manga and special magazines. Great place to build up your collection of books and collectibles
I love this bookstore since they have so many cute stuff not only books. You will find a lot of interesting things here. Like a lovely note, pen, Japanese souvenir, even a blind box, etc
Looking for Japanese comics, Japanese anime’s, Japanese manga, books, games basically most Japanese cool things are here. If you can find what you are looking for most likely they can get it or order it for you. Since you are here, check out the Asian food court just next to the bookstore.
usually this place is good but the cashier closing (japanese older man) was very rude. asked one question about sonny angel stickers they were advertising and he had an attitude, refused to make eye contact and staring with a dirty look on his face when browsing the store. makes me not want to come back. their figures have also decreased by a great amount over the years.
Great place to look for manga and Japanese books and merch. I wish did have big space thought cause it can get crowded really fast. Overall, if you are looking for anything Japanese related whether to pens, notebooks, or just neat trinkets this is your shop to go to.
I went and did some gift shopping and browsing for myself. It’s a larger gift shop sized space. Think along the lines of those old Waldenbooks or B. Dalton bookshops in the dead malls. Except this was a much nicer experience as it was more spread out, making it much easier to navigate each section of the store. There’s a ton of manga, and even some newer non-Japanese fiction novels up front. In addition to books written and printed in Japanese, other assorted stuff like large format picture books about Japan and some travel guides are available too. They have model kits, some arts and crafts, and other good gift ideas. It was a nice mix of Japanese centric books and things, and other practical stuff like office/school supplies. It’s the kind of smaller but well thought out bookstore experience I’ve been missing, as all I have near me are the bigger Barnes & Noble or Half Price Books types of places. If you’re looking to try something different than the big book chains or Amazon, it’s a fun place to get lost in for awhile and walk out with some manga, or might be the perfect place to find a unique gift for those people in your life who are needing something different for Christmas or their birthday. I’d recommend it even if you’re not someone who is into Japanese media or culture, because it’s a bookshop that just feels different. The staff there was also friendly and very helpful.
"We'll just pop in for a minute!" NEVER happens. Set aside at least 90 minutes when you visit Kino. Two full hours realistically 🤗🥰🤩 They have _everything_ 😁 ..books, manga, thimble sized knick-knacks, pens, pencils. Omg. Stickers! Funny soap. Model kits. Plushies. Totes. Grab a basket and plop everything in there 👍
