ChiBeauty Studios – Braids, Dreadlocks & Sound Baths

Got my two strands and barrel twists done by Mo. She’s really good at what she does and is very friendly to all her customers. I’d recommend her to anyone who’s wanting to get their hair braided / twisted.

I love Chi! First, I love that she offers a hair consultation. She really takes the time to get to know me understand your needs and concerns. Since Covid, I wore a hat for over 2 years and was ready for change. As I searched for someone, I was led to the talented Chi. I booked an appointment once I had the consultation. I knew my hair was in good hands. I got my twist braids done and absolutely love them! I’m must say, a huge plus is the privacy, it’s your time with her (talk about personalized attention). Throughout the process, she made sure I was good and made sure she was giving me why I wanted. She has such a great personality, attitude and spirit. She offers an environment that suits your needs. I enjoyed a fabulous and relaxing hair day with Chi. We talked, ate, laughed and grooved to some music. You must give her a call for a consult and then let her work her miracle on your hair.

I spent so much time looking for someone to give me peekaboo locs and stumbled upon Chibeauty after lots of researching. Chi installed some loc extensions, plus some fun braids and twists! And seriously, Chi is AMAZING! She is the sweetest person, so caring and does such great work! Since I got my initial locs put in I've been back a few times for a touch up, and now I go to Chi for crystal healing sessions each week, too. Such a blessing finding Chibeauty in my life!

Chi was COMPLETELY amazing!!! Excellent treatment from start to finish!! She was able to work me in a few days after I called her and did the best job on my twists. The salon was beautiful, calm and had great vibes. I would definitely recommend!!! Looking forward to to rockin my twists this summer!!!

‼️AVOID AT ALL COST‼️ I had the worst experience with Chi, a so-called hair braider and loctician, and I strongly advise everyone to avoid her at all costs. I initially gave her a $100 deposit, which she told me would count toward the service, only to later claim it wouldn’t. I needed my extensions reinstalled, and she quoted me an outrageous $1,400. Since I didn’t have time to find another stylist last minute, I agreed, assuming the deposit would be deducted. She then changed the terms, saying it wasn’t counted anymore. So the price went up to $1500‼️ She was unprofessional from the start—arriving late, constantly leaving in the middle of removing my extensions to chat with colleagues about her personal issues, and taking four hours (with my help!) to remove them. She then washed my hair with cheap, stinky shampoo, and when I pointed it out, she had to borrow a better one from a colleague. I even had to wash my own hair while she was chatting with someone else’s clients. The worst part? She refused to complete my service because I didn’t want her to post pictures of me online. I am a private person and don’t even use Instagram, yet she insisted it was her "rule" (which she never told me in advance). When I told her I don’t want to be posted anywhere, she simply refused to finish my hair. At that point, I had already paid her $830 (she tried to demand full payment upfront, which I refused). I asked for a partial refund since she only removed my extensions—a service that costs around $200, as confirmed by another stylist who later fully reinstalled my hair for just $400. Chi refused, started screaming, crying, lying, and behaving like a child. It was absolutely unprofessional. I had to call the police, waited until midnight, and they advised me to take her to small claims court, which I absolutely will. She scammed me—$830 for nothing but hair removal. On top of that, she insulted me multiple times and continued sending unpleasant messages after I left. This was, without a doubt, the worst hair experience of my life. Do NOT trust this woman. I highly recommend finding a professional, ethical stylist instead.

Chi is great! She did an excellent job on my retwist and protective style. Not only was the styling good but the environment she creates in her studio and her friendly upbeat and professional attitude make seeing her a pleasant and refreshing experience. 10/10 would recommend to anyone in need of a fresh style in LA

This review is long overdue! Chi got a huge knot out of my hair, which I was convinced I'd have to cut out. After three days of me and my husband trying to detangle it and many tears, I turned to a pro. Boy, am I glad it was Chi. She instantly understood that the knot was connected to past trauma and old energy that needed to be let go. She worked on the knot into the night, burned sage around it, used crystals, we laughed, we cried... it was the most beautiful hair exorcism lol. When she finally took out the last tangle, I felt 20 lbs lighter. I am so grateful for Chi, her healing hands, her passion for what she does, and care for of her clients. She provides the full experience- one on one private studio, drinks or 420 if you partake, sounds bowls, healing crystals, music... it is more than just a trip to the salon. I highly recommend Chi to anyone looking for some spiritual self care and beautification. Thank you Chi!
