I’ve been going to Katie Whitt at Salon Platinum for a couple of years now and she is hands down one of the best I’ve ever been to for my platinum blonde color and hair extensions. I will self admit I am pretty particular with my blonde color and have been to several different stylists and she is truly amazing. I also feel her prices are fair for extension install and color. She also does custom placement of my hair extensions making them look very natural. I also rarely, if ever have to come between appointments for them to be tightened up or re-installed, which is a huge plus for me as a busy Mom with a career. I am grateful for her and the confidence in beauty she has brought to my life. I recommend her to friends all the time and currently have 3 free friends that also see her regularly and are pleased. The best experience I have ever had at a salon! Carly did an above and beyond job on my hair make over! She made sure I was comfortable and understood the service as this was a huge change as you can see from before and after photos. The salon owner Heather came over and chatted with me In between her clients. Such a sweet and amazing lady. I felt so welcome in her salon. I cannot recommend Carly enough! She is extremely knowledgeable in all kinds of color, blondes, extensions, haircuts, and many other services. 10/10 beautiful salon

I’ve been going to Katie since I moved to VB from out of state a year ago — and she’s hands-down the BEST — especially when it comes to extensions. I’m writing this because I’ve seen some recent feedback that doesn’t reflect my experience — and I want to offer a different perspective. ➡️ EXTENSIONS: I’ve had multiple installs and move-ups from Katie, and my hair has never looked or felt better. She uses high-quality hair (Bellami). My extensions have stayed secure well past two weeks — I even go longer between move-ups than most! This is because she is a MASTER of the blend and grow out. I have naturally dark brown (almost black) hair and I am constantly amazed at how it looks better and better as it grows out – no line of demarcation, no brassy mid-color, just smooth dark to icy cool blonde. There were times I found myself relying on the feeling of tightness to know they were "right," and I’d ask for them to be tightened early — but Katie would explain that the natural growth process was going just fine and that a move-up wasn’t necessary yet. She was honest enough to turn down the extra appointment (and money!) and encouraged me to trust the process. I did — and I’m so glad. Her focus is always on the integrity of my hair in the long run. The results spoke for themselves. ➡️ PRICING: Katie is honest and upfront about costs. She goes over everything before the appointment at a separate consult — the hair, the move-up fees, and what’s included. She also makes herself available for questions and ongoing conversation and clarity. You get so much more than you pay for: professional application, premium hair, and customized service. She’s actually undercharged me at times just to help me stay within budget. (don’t worry, I got her back in a tip though 😊) ➡️ HAIR QUALITY & SHEDDING: All extensions shed to some extent and are affected by heat, washing, and styling — that’s normal! Katie educates her clients about proper care and maintenance, and she’s always willing to troubleshoot if something doesn’t feel right. ➡️ VIBE & PROFESSIONALISM: Katie is warm, kind, and incredibly professional. Her energy is sweet, flexible, and confident in the mastery of her field. I’ve never once felt uneasy or rushed in her chair. She's honest — if she says something’s comped or on sale, she’s doing YOU a favor. She’s generous and caring to the core. ➡️ CUTTING & BLENDING: Katie is a blending pro! She always checks with me before trimming or blending extensions, and the results are seamless. If extensions don’t blend, it’s often because the length, density, or placement needs to be adjusted — and Katie explains that with care and clarity. ➡️ RESPONSIVENESS & LOYALTY: Katie responds professionally and respectfully. She’s built trust with her clients over the years — not just through hair services, but through genuine care and integrity. In a world full of stylists, Katie stands out.
