The Young American Salon - Old Town Tustin

I was banned from all Young American Salon locations earlier this year. I had been polite, paid for my services, and had positive experiences with my stylist Rachel Lopez then suddenly received an email from the owner, Julia, saying I'm no longer allowed. When I asked why, I was told "I made people uncomfortable," which is absurd and insulting. No one at this salon ever communicated any problem to me. Instead, they quietly decided to blacklist a respectful customer without explanation. It's the most unprofessional behavior I've ever encountered from a business that claims to care about its clients. Unprofessional and dismissive. I was banned without warning or reason. They just want your money at the end of the day I would advise anyone considering this place to look elsewhere. If you value respect don't set foot in this place. Trust me. Reply: Everything stated in your reply is completely false. I have never met the owners they don’t even live in California and have no firsthand involvement with this salon. I only spoke with them briefly over the phone, during which they made false accusations about things I never did. They don’t know me personally and are inventing claims to cover their own unprofessional conduct I have never made anyone uncomfortable. That is not in my nature. In fact, I barely spoke during my appointments and always minded my own business. The stylists were the ones asking me questions always judging me, and I always responded politely. I had no issue with my stylist Rachel until someone began spreading lies about me. When I called, no one picked up. They told me there’s no receptionist and they never return calls a basic failure for any business. Their response, full of lies and personal attacks, proves they’d rather invent enemies than manage their salon. Judge for yourself which is worse a customer telling the truth or a business that can’t even answer its phone.They don’t answer their phones, yet they’ve invented a story about me that says everything about how this salon chooses to operate.

Just moved back to the area and was in need of a new stylist. I had an amazing experience with Lindy yesterday at the Young American! Before doing anything to my hair we talked through what I was looking for and she explained the everything behind the process, which was so helpful. We ended up doing a partial balayage, toner, and cut and it came out exactly how I wanted, super natural and soft! Lindy was so kind and walked me through every step she took, I literally learned so much! Will be going back here and to Lindy for all my hair needs from now on!!

I loved my haircut! My stylist was Janelle she was so friendly and so talented! She was attentive and really took time to make sure I loved my new look! My hair feels lighter looks amazing and honestly my confidence has totally skyrocketed! I brought in an example photo and she figured out a way to make it work with my face shape and my overall everyday ability to style my own hair. She really takes the time to make sure it will work for you. I will definitely be back and booking my appointments with Janelle

Tori has been cutting and styling my hair for over 10 years, and she never fails to impress. Her techniques always leave my hair looking neat and stylish. Well reccommended.

Lili was my stylist. She was super kind and helped answer all of my questions, since I was a bit nervous and indecisive coming in to my appointment. I got curtain bangs and layers. This is the first time EVER that I have walked out of a salon loving my hair. I will definitely be returning for future trims and cuts!!

I’ve trusted Janelle with my hair since 2005. She even fixed my hair after I made bad decisions like dying my hair black with henna etc. She is talented, meticulous, and gives great advice and honest consultations because she cares about quality and customer satisfaction.

Love this place! Great location, excellent vibes, and hairstylist who know what they’re doing. Thanks to Jessica Lizet Montoya, for rescuing my hair from the dead and damaged. After the first visit I felt confident in myself, and loved the results. I have fine curly thin hair, with stubborn grays. When I first started going, I was experiencing hair loss and uneven growth. My hair has then gotten healthier and I’m able to keep my length. She’s super talented, patient and delicate with my fine hair. I can’t imagine going back to box hair dye, or anyone else!
