The Secret Garden Salon & Spa | Hair Salon in Staten Island, NY

I am extremely unhappy with the results of my service. I ultimately paid $456 for a cut and highlights, expecting a result that matched what I requested. Instead, I received a fully lightened top layer that looked nothing like what I asked for. After sitting with it for about a week and a half, asking several people for their honest opinions, and realizing how unhappy I truly was, I contacted the salon to let them know. During that call, the receptionist was rude and asked "what’s the story here?" even though I had just explained what happened. I was told a refund or complimentary correction was not possible because two weeks had passed, despite the fact that the service I requested was not properly performed. They offered a consultation, and although the stylist was polite and said she did not believe I was being dishonest, she also said she did not see the issues I was describing. During this process, I was also charged an additional $78 for a service they said had not been billed at my previous appointment, which is how the total came to $456. This was frustrating given that my original concern had not been resolved. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, especially considering the price paid and how the situation was handled, and I would not return. White glove service. 10/10. i called here on a whim because I needed a haircut. I don’t cut my hair typically. Thank God I did. From the moment I walked in I was greeted warmly, offered coffee/tea, my coat was hung up. The ladies are lovely. Every person I interacted with from the moment I arrived was just wonderful. Now, i had no idea what to do with my hair, but CORRIN? Corrin gave me the hair of my DREAMS! i am GUSHING with joy!!!!! She transformed my hair into full, healthy, bouncy, gorgeous hair, & she is so kind & lovely! I have now found my home as far as hair salons go. Bless this business abundantly !

I brought a family member who let her hair get so matted, she was planning on shaving it off because it was so bad. ( Her hair was down to her butt before the matting) But someone recommended the secret garden spa and said they could save it. The process took 3 days and multiple hands. Her hair is flawless now. Their hard work, patience, and dedication made this possible and I am so thankful for the amazing staff that helped her. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!!

This salon is the only salon I would ever go to to cut,style, and color my hair. Ang and Sabrina are absolutely amazing especially with my curly hair!!!

I came here after a disaster at another salon. I came in looking like a skunk with almost black hair and chunky white/ashy highlights at the crown of my head. Alyssa saved me! She was transparent about pricing and honest and realistic about expectations. Alyssa really transformed my hair and I can’t wait to come back! The salon is also super cute 😍

My name is Heather Czirr and I’ve been going to secret garden for years to see Corinn for my hair but have to commend them on their recent service. I booked a haircut and makeup appointment for my bridal shower this past Sunday September 28th. At my appointment while I’m getting my hair cut, they told me that due to some sort of miscommunication, there was no make up artist on premises to do my makeup. As it was my bridal shower, I was very panicked and didn’t know what to do. They assured me they would figure it out and figure it out they did! They called almost every salon on the island to find anyone who could do my makeup in time, they ended up finding someone at a different salon who was willing to take me. When I couldn’t get to the salon on my own because I do not drive and my fiancé couldn’t get me there in time, their manager graciously drove me to the appointment and on top of it all, they paid for my makeup in full to make up for their mistake. I will continue to highly recommend this Salon and continue to be a loyal customer for years to come! Thank you secret garden for making my day perfect still and going above and beyond to make up for the mistake!

Walked in for my first appointment with doubts that anyone could handle my request to correct a bad haircut from my previous salon. Danielle L, with complete aplomb, worked a miracle, leaving me floating out the door with a smile on my lips and a charming sassy pixie cut that has been generating all kinds of compliments!
