Years ago, I was a regular customer. I forgot the name of the stylist I used to see, I really liked her. I came last Tuesday and today. The stylist I met with, Toni, pushed back my appointment time twice. The first time wasn't a big deal. Especially since I was home, but the second time was very irritating. I was already taking an Uber to the shop. I don't drive. I live near Madera and Los Angeles Ave. I had to spend an hour there just waiting. There's nothing to do in that shopping center. But Toni was very nice and took care of my hair and did a great job. Unfortunately, at the end of the day, I noticed the shirt I wore had a huge bleach stain in the back. I had thought she got water on me. I will never again meet with Toni. I'm also going to really think about whether or not I'll even go back. I love my hair, but I'm unhappy with her unprofessionalism. And the nasty bleach stain on my new shirt. My previous hair stylist was always on time and very professional. She never left ugly bleach stains on my clothes. I'm very disappointed in Toni's handiwork on my shirt, and with her time management. I was going to leave a good review, but then I saw the bleach stain on my new shirt.

I have been driving from Woodland Hills for Samantha. She is amazing. I have short curly hair and one wrong haircut can make it look horrible for weeks. Samantha always gets it right! Love the vibe of the studio too.

Just wow! What a hidden gem in a random strip mall in the middle of Simi Valley. The receptionist offered me something to drink upon arrival and made me a fresh brewed cup of coffee. Aly gave me a long pixie cut that I adore and have been getting tons of compliments on. Can't wait to go back... such a low key, friendly, fun vibe!

I decided to try out this Hair Salon today and I only have great things to say about my experience! My stylist was Allison and she did a fantastic job on my hair. She was extremely friendly and engaged in conversation, wanting to get to know me as a person. I was just starting to get over a cold and as soon as I had a coughing fit, she readily went and grabbed me a bottle of water. The receptionist was also great, giving me a tour of their awesome and atmospheric facility. I will definitely be ditching my old barber because this is going to be my go to place for my future hair cuts.

I was passing through Simi Valley on business and needed a haircut. The hostess at Play hooked me up with a stylist who could compliment my hair requests and when I walked in the owner Brig was there to greet me. The atmosphere was open and colorful. They had complementary soda and coffee and the most comfortable shampoo chairs I have ever sat in. I got a great haircut at a great price. I highly recommend.

My hair is super thick and I have lots of it. Any hair stylist I've ever been to seemed to have been in love with my hair - but few have been able to cut it in a way that is 1) easy to maintain and 2) the most flattering for my face shape. I've never been to Play Hair Lounge before but was instantly smitten by the cleanliness, style, and size of the space. You can walk in without an appointment (like I did) but definitely do not expect to be seen right away. The woman at the front desk took my information, what I'm thinking of having done, took a look at my hair, and told me she would give my info to a stylist that she thought would be a good fit. Within a day, I got a call back and made an appointment with Jessica Hecker. When I walked in for my appointment, I was offered something to drink and given a tour of the space (they have really neat photographs and artwork by the stylists on the walls). Within a few minutes, I met Jessica. She was AWESOME. She listened to what I was thinking, took the shape of my face and the texture of my hair into consideration before she started snipping away. She asked me questions and was sympathetic to any fears I may have had. What emerged was an easy to maintain style and bangs that will be painless to style. She showed me how to care for the new cut, gave me a few business cards, and said I could call or text her for complimentary bang trims for the future. Go see her! She's a genius.
