Mi Salon

We went to Mi Hair Salon because, in a city like Santa Barbara where there's very little diversity in hair care, especially for curly hair, we were hopeful. We heard they work with curly textures, so we gave it a chance. My daughter had picture day the next day, and we just wanted her hair styled, not cut, or anything just styled. Not only did they have no idea how to work with her curl type, the styling looked terrible, but they also chopped off a chunk of her hair because it was a looser texture. They didn't even ask, just scissors out and gone. Completely unnecessary. She is not able to wear it in a high bun or ponytail now! If you’re looking for a salon that understands natural curly hair, this is NOT the place. Do better, Mi Hair Salon.

I was looking to get some layers done for the first time and was calling around town. Mi was the first place to accept my last minute appointment 20 minutes after I called. I simply showed her the picture of the layers I wanted and she did an absolutely INCREDIBLE job. The owner herself cut my hair, and she was so amazing and talented. My new go-to spot for sure! Highly recommend, this is my future spot! Thank you Mi Salon!

I had a fantastic experience at Mi Salon after having a very poor experience at Supercuts. Raquel was a great listener as I explained what I wanted and had a wealth of knowledge to help me decide what cut would be best for me. The whole staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The scalp massage was the best I've had. Very pleased with my cut and will definitely go back for my next one.

WOW! Raquel and Carmen are amazing. Visited from Orange County and a friend got me an appointment. I have really thick hair and haven't had a stylist since 2020. Raquel knows her stuff and took the time to not only fix my hair l,lbut styled it beautifully. I left feeling like a new woman. I'll be coming back to see her in three months. qßSp

I'm a 61 y.o. man who is fortunate to still have a thick head of hair and so had been growing it out for 6-9 months hoping I could find someone to do something with it. I was in town to spend some much needed quality time with my woman (long distance relationship right now) and decided it was time to see if I could find someone to do something remarkable with my 1970s looking Covid hair. I walked in to Raquel's salon on a whim and not only was I thankful my timing was perfect and she could take me, but I had the best experience of my life getting a hair cut! I know that sounds over the top, but it's the reason I'm making the effort to jot all this down. With very little discussion and her running her fingers through my hair, I was confident she somehow knew what to do when I didn't even know what I wanted. I think all I said was "Hey..if I was a movie star or other famous person I know somebody could do something special with this long mop of hair".. and she did. Not only that, but a scalp massage, shampoo and rinse massage were all included for $55! Really? in Santa Barbara? I went to look for the correct spelling of her name on the salon website and so came across her Bio. You should read it. It resonates perfectly with the experience I had there.

When I relocated to Santa Barbara, I tried three other salons before trying Mi Salon. I have curly hair that is turning from strawberry blonde to gray/white due to getting older. Since I'm not ready to rock all white hair at my current age, I opted to start dyeing it. I loved my hair stylist in San Diego but no one before Raquel, owner of Mi Salon, was able to replicate the color and quality that I expected from a stylist. Mi Salon also specializes in cutting and styling curly hair. I have been going to Mi Salon for about 4 years and will continue to do so as long as I'm living in the area. I highly recommend Mi Salon!

I just went to this amazing salon and Raquel gave me the best blowout I've ever had, and my hair is so tough to deal with. My hair is so shiny and smooth, I will always always use her! She is the BEST! Thank you.
