Hello Yuna

Yuna is more than a hairdresser, she is an artist. I’ve had many hairdressers before Yuna and none have come close to her level of expertise, attention to detail and consistency. Over the past two years, I have left her studio with a smile every. single. time. If you are considering a perm, Yuna is 110% the right person to go to. Most hair studios will damage / fry your hair but she has the uncanny ability to make your hair feel even healthier and more natural after a perm. I’ve had perms from other places that take weeks to settle in. Yuna’s perms look amazing from Day 1 with no dryness, frizz or breakage. I also would be remiss to not mention her exceptional scissor work for haircuts. I have thick Asian male hair that is very difficult for hairdressers to cut well / give it natural movement. Yuna is able to transform my hair into something I could only dream about before I started going to her. With Yuna, your hair will look great from the time you leave her chair to when you get back into it for your next haircut. When I have important events, I have no hesitation booking a haircut right before it. With other barbers, I would be too scared to do that and would time my haircuts a few weeks before an important event, in case my hair needed time to grow out to look presentable. In addition to her skills, she is extremely kind, personable and I am excited to get into the chair to just hang out for an hour. Yuna really cares about your hair as much as you do and I’d recommend her to anyone!

I’m a simple man with a simple fade cut (much to my wife’s eternal disappointment), so I was worried that Yuna’s salon might be way too fancy for my very not‑fancy haircut. Turns out…I was completely wrong. Never in my life has a fade looked this good. I walked out of there wondering if I had accidentally become both cooler and more employable. Most shops I’ve been to make a fade look like a sad watercolor sunset—blurry, uneven, and full of regret. Yuna, however, worked actual magic. Clean lines, perfect blend, and even some stylish touches on the sides I didn’t know were possible with my head shape. Additionally, I appreciate how she tracks/remembers every detail of my previous cuts. I don’t even remember what I had for breakfast, and yet she somehow remembers the exact details and little tweaks that make the cut look great. I basically sit down, she works her wizardry, and I leave looking like the upgraded version of myself. Yuna is truly a pro—highly recommend!

Yuna is incredible! I’ve been seeing her for a few years now. My husband and I used to get our haircut with her even back in 2019 prior to the pandemic. Even though we moved to SF, I still make the trek down to San Mateo to visit Yuna to get my hair done with her, even without a car. She does a beautiful job every time on perms, balayage, cuts, and more, and even gives tons of advice and expertise on how to take care of your hair. I trust her entirely with my hair 🙂. I normally don't write reviews, but my experience and service at Hello Yuna was so phenomenal, I couldn't not express my joy and gratitude. As soon as we got started, Yuna immediately helped me to feel comfortable and at ease. Throughout the session, she would often ask if I needed any food or water and displayed amazing hospitality. Not only that, Yuna is extremely skilled in her work, bringing knowledge from what she learned in Korea. Whenever I would ask for clarification on the steps she was taking, she was always good at explaining it to me in a simple enough way where I could understand. Also a plus - she has an adorable schnauzer puppy named Papico, and she's the sweetest!! I definitely would come here again and I recommend Hello Yuna to anybody who is looking for quality work, the price is super worth the money. Great perm! Loves how the curls came out and the extra volume from the root perm.

Unreasonable charge, we arrived a bit late and we were charged late fee, despite we finished on time. Also she recommended a special haircut with higher price, the price seems to be decided completely randomly. The attitude is also bad, feel like i owe her money. The hair cut is ok, but definitely not worth the price and the experience.
