I’ve been getting my hair cut by Karen for almost 30 years, so this review is definitely long overdue. I first met her when she worked at another salon, and when she opened K & D, I naturally followed. Even after moving from Elk Grove to Davis, I tried other places closer to home, but nothing compared. So, I kept making the drive back because, honestly, she’s worth it. Karen also gave my daughters their first haircuts, and now they’re 24 and 23, so you could say she’s basically part of the family at this point. Over the years, I’ve always gotten compliments on my hair, even when I used to get highlights from her. She knows exactly what she’s doing, and her prices are super reasonable. The salon has a warm and familiar feel. There are usually three or four stylists, and they’ve all been there as long as I can remember. That kind of consistency is rare these days. I just hope Karen never retires because I honestly wouldn’t know where to go. Highly recommend K & D Hair Salon for anyone looking for a great cut from someone who truly cares about her work.

I love Kitty!! She did a great basic cut for me and my young daughter. $40 total for the both of us can’t beat that price! Simple, easy place. I made an appointment but I believe they do walk ins. My husband comes here as well. Cash only.

I literally just came in for a maintenance trim. Literally just to chop off an inch or so. Told her to keep my long layers and the part. I didn’t know I had to specify I wanted symmetry at the ends or that I’d like to keep the layers seamless. My long layers have been chopped on the right side and trimmed on the left. When my hair goes down my back, it is not a U shape that it was when I walked in. Instead it looks like a Nike swoosh from left to right. I’m terribly dissatisfied and utterly upset as I’ve taken great time and effort to grow it out. Kitty is a sweet person but I am paying for a service that cannot be guaranteed.

I have gone to K&D Salon for over 15 years as well as my family & extended family . All of the ladies are great at hair. I personally like to book with Kitty. I would call for an appointment, although I think they would try to accommodate walk-ins. They have gone to CASH ONLY. Kind of a bummer but I get it. The prices are very reasonable, but of course everything has gone up, including haircuts. So, a guys cut is around $15 and women's start at $20. I go in about 2-3 times per year for a trim. I have also had color/highlights done there a couple of times. It's nice to go to a place where they remember their long time customers! 😊

I got a last minute hair cut from them in September 2024 and I think it was the best hair cut I’ve ever had in my life! I have thin asian hair and it’s hard to find anyone who knows how to cut thin asian men hair or Asian men hair styles. I forgot her name but she did an amazing job on me! I forgot to leave the review but I’m getting my haircut soon so I wanted to leave a review before I go again. I was aiming for Korean style hair cut. This is before and after.🫶

Excellent all stylists are great! Been going over 3 yrs now...keep it up folks! All stylists are great! Love them..Jennie, Katie,Irene, Karen! Prices r fine and they take cash ! It's our family salon!

We take the whole family here and have been going here for over a decade now. They're always friendly and accommodating for walk ins. Which I need cause I never really know when I might have a minute to pop in for one of the kids to get a hair cut. Prices can't be beat. I've had a couple of haircuts over the years that weren't exactly what I wanted but overall they do a great job and I've learned to just be super specific about the cut I want.
