Booked an online appointment through Meta's website. Prices and services are clearly listed, so there's no price shock or surprises when booking services. Stylists are up-front about their costs. Our stylist, Derek, openly communicated, in a professional manner, regarding the desired outcome of the style, asked for style inspiration photos, and provided information about at-home care for the style. Derek even sent my daughter home with a complimentary color refresher for at-home use when the color begins to fade. My daughter LOVED her hair. I love the quality of Derek's work, his dedication to his craft, and that my daughter leaves the salon with healthy, beautiful hair every time. You get exactly what you pay for at Meta: quality work, expert experience, and professionalism.

Communication was poor from booking through the actual service. The hairstylist decided on a service for my daughter without first confirming the cost with me, which was unacceptable. I also felt the service was intentionally dragged out to increase the price. I’ve had more intensive services done elsewhere that took far less time and did not cost nearly as much. To make matters worse, the hairstylist decided what the tip should be, which should never happen. This experience felt unprofessional and left me extremely disappointed. This is how businesses lose clients rather than build loyal ones.

I’ve seen Derek twice now: once for a curly cut and again for a color. His work was amazing for both. He’s great at making his customers feel welcome, and delivering on what you’re looking for while giving you his professional advice. And he can cut/style curly hair very well! He gave me a rainbow cut to take off some of the extra weight of my curls so I could cool off for the summer. Love the way my curls fall with this cute. The salon also have a comforting energy, which is appreciated as a new client. (Space is very queer-friendly!) I can’t say enough good things here, so come see for yourself!! Thank you, Derek! 💖

I have curly hair and it’s hard to find a good stylist who can cut it right. Today I had my first appointment with Maddy and she knew what she was doing! She put life back into my hair. 10/10 experience

If you want to get your hair done, I would highly recommend Derek. He has such a beautiful soul! He makes you feel welcomed and loved. He takes the time to get to know you, and with his work! He has a spectacular personality and wears the cutest outfits! I’ve only seen him twice so far and he never disappoints. Always makes me feel beautiful when I leave there and leaves my hair feeling so healthy compared to others who have touched my hair. No one else is allowed to touch my hair again! Can’t wait to go back ❤️
