Ultra Lux Salon

This was the worst salon experience in my whole life and I'm 48. I booked the appointment on their website, but they don't check it because when I got there they didn't know I was coming. When they saw my appointment, they "worked me in". They did this by cutting my hair dry using the strangest technique I've ever seen: pulling my hair up (no combing), twisting it & chopping it off. Despite the 10 minute/no shampoo/no blow-dry cut, they charged $125 & presented me with a box for a tip!! I went home & my husband's mouth fell open which is when I started to cry. I FaceTimed with a stylist in our family back east & she was horrified too. She said just go talk to the lady about fixing it. So I went back to the salon & the lady actually accused me of cutting my own hair & "faking" this bad cut *that she did!* She gave me my money back & told me she had "real customers" to get back too. The next stylist who did the actual fixing confirmed it was cut for someone with very course hair; not straight hair like mine but regardless of that, it was just a very bad cut. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GO ELSEWHERE.

Be very careful trusting people like these with your hair. All they care about is money they genuinely could care less about your hair. The owner is terrible I can understand why everyone else who works here is so unprofessional I’m so ashamed to put my hair on here and the owner is very aggressive when I said, I didn’t like it. She was extremely hostile. The blow drying of the hair really covered up how they fried off my hair please rethink what you’re doing when you come here or be very clear that they don’t fry your hair! Initially, the haircut looked so chopped I warn you in advance be careful!

Deanna is a genius. I have an insanely wild and unkempt mane that left me scarred and phobic of hair salons and stylists after many bad experiences. I was reticent as always to visit a new salon as I’m so nervous about getting my hair cut. However, Deanna took her time with me and gave me literally hands down the best hair cut and style I’ve ever had in my life. I finally feel excited to go back to the salon, rather than dreading the quest for a good stylist. More importantly, for the first time I didn’t feel like my hair was an inconvenience but instead, a virtue. It’s hard to have thick course curly wild hair, so curly ladies: go to Deanna, you will be so thankful you did and your curls will never look better. Thank you so much Deanna for giving me my groove back and empowering me to fall in love with my hair and curls. I’ve never felt more confident.

I just got a cut from Yani and I am in love with it! I was nervous, but ready, to take off some length. She looked at pictures I had saved and saw what I wanted and made it happen. The atmosphere of the salon was awesome with great music and great vibes. I will definitely be back!

I've been to this salon a few times over the years. In the past, for color and cut when I lived closer to the area and after that, I'd make the drive from Koreatown for a vintage style on special occasions. I wanted to do so this time around for my 40th birthday next week. I reached via their scheduling app on Tuesday to request an appointment (I thought this was weird because most service businesses don't require a request-you pick a time and date, and it's booked). Cut to 3 days later, and I have never received a call, text, or email letting me know if my appointment was "approved". I called twice today during business hours, and no one picks up so I leave a voicemail letting them know I'm still waiting for a reply. Instead of a call back, I get a text simply saying my appointment couldn't be scheduled even though the stylist had that entire morning from 9am to 2pm open when I looked through their app. I just tried calling for a third time, and no one picked up yet again. I find the type of communication I received to be incredibly impersonal and unprofessional. It doesn't seem like Ultra Lux needs or wants your business so I would suggest looking to spend your money with someone who does. Now, I have less than a week to find someone to style my hair since Ultra Lux wasted 3 days of this past week just getting back to me.

Every stylist here is amazing and truly has passion for their craft. I've never trusted anyone more. When I leave I don't only have amazing hair but I feel like my heart is full from all the positive energy and love these ladies bring ❤️

Cute, retro-themed salon with awesome ladies! They really know how to do vintage hair! If you're looking for a salon that does victory rolls, pin curls, Bettie bangs, middy cuts, then Ultra Lux has it all. I've had my hair styled by Maine, got my Bettie bangs by Marie and had my hair dyed to a red ombre by Yani. I've never had anything gone wrong with any of these girls and they're all just super fantastic. They listen to what you have to say, and will give you the best cut that's right for you without compromising too much on what you really want. They know how to cut curly hair, too! So ladies, if you're having a hard time finding a place that knows how to cut curly hair right, Ultra Lux can take care of that. My time here has always been fantastic as service never failed me!
