After being pregnant I decided I wanted to treat myself with some new hair. I decided on the "calico" color trend. I made an appointment online and was assigned Jenna Saltekoff because I didn’t have a specific stylist I wanted as I had never been to this salon before. I ended up going in that first appointment for just a consultation and a quick trim. We talked at length about my current hair and what I wanted it to look like. I was completely honest about the fact that a year and a half ago I had put brown Ion dye on my hair. She stated I might have to come in for a couple sessions to get those pieces to the blonde I had in mind. I told her my hair usually lifts well but that I understood it may take more than one session. I came in for my appointment to get the color done and she was saying she wasn’t going to bleach the parts that would be red which I knew immediately wouldn’t come out as bright as I had stated I wanted and showed with my reference photos that I had both sent her and showed her at my consultation. She then got a coworker to come over and give their opinion which was that of course it would need to be bleached first. At this point I began to feel nervous about the whole thing but she seemed confident so we went ahead. She put all the bleach on the parts that would be red and blonde. I felt like it was on there a long time but I was unsure about the developer she was using so I didn’t say anything. I trusted she knew what she was doing. After checking it and beginning to wash it out she stated that it lifted really well but that there was still a little color left from the dye and that I would probably need to come back a second time to get it lighter. I said ok. A short time later she said "I think I could get more of that color out. I want to do a bleach wash" I said "ok as long as it’s not going to damage my hair!" And she said "no no your hair feels great it’s really resilient!" I trusted again she would not damage my hair and let her do the bleach wash. After all was said and done she dried my hair and I told her "I’m a little concerned about the texture!" And she brushed it off and curled my hair. After it was curled it looked a little better so I didn’t say anything else about it. She had told me she would do a hair mask that day but she had scheduled someone else and they had been waiting so she did not do that. The next day while showering and after drying my hair it was very obvious how damaged it was. It feels sticky and hard to brush. Its texture is completely frazzled, dry, and has no bounce or life to it. I messaged her stating that fact and sent pictures. She told me to come in and she would give me a mask to try once a week a couple times then to let her know if it was better. It was not better and I texted her about it, providing more photos of it currently. She then told me I could make an appointment to come in for a more intense treatment. I told her I would do that as long as I wanted going to be charged more. She had quoted me $300-$400 for my hair and ended up charging me the full $400 and I tipped her $80 so I ended up paying almost $500 already for incredibly damaged hair. That was my whole hair budget. She never replied to that text. At this point it appears I will have to just chop my hair to get the damaged parts gone.
I’ve had my haircut by five other stylist in the Reading area. I had Alyssa cut my hair yesterday and believe me I was a total project! She did an amazing job!!! I have been a hairdresser in Bend, Oregon for 40 years and I would totally recommend Alyssa if you have long hair and you’re in dire need of an awesome haircut!
I had an absolutely fantastic experience with Victoria at Spice Salon! She expertly highlighted my hair and styled it to perfection. From the moment I walked in, her professionalism and attention to detail were evident. Victoria took the time to understand exactly what I wanted and provided valuable recommendations. Her skill and precision in highlighting left my hair looking vibrant and natural. The styling was the cherry on top, and I left the salon feeling like a million bucks. Victoria’s warm and friendly demeanor made the entire experience even more enjoyable. I can’t recommend her enough – if you’re looking for top-notch hair care and styling, Victoria at Spice Salon is the one to trust. Thank you, Victoria, for making my hair look and feel amazing!
SAVE YOUR MONEY ! Won’t go in to great detail but wasted my money and never got what I wanted , one of the owners completely blew me off when I tried to explain to her I was not satisfied with my hair and then I tried calling to see if I could get my very ruined hair fixed and got told I would be reached by the owner who never called me , very unprofessional. I wasted 250+ dollars to get treated horribly even though I was respectful and professional the entire time, I also got my hair ruined and it is still fried even after months of me taking care of it . It seems every comment on here is about how Victoria is holding the salon down while the owners keep making excuses as to why everyone else’s hair is completely ruined and can not be fixed ; try taking accountability for a change and admit that you ruin peoples hair , take their money without changing or fixing the situation and go to sleep knowing there is people out there who have to suffer the consequences of your lack of skills .
I always love my appointments with Victoria! She always does such a great job on my hair and has helped me so much on learning how to love my hair. Everyone at the salon is so friendly and I always feel welcomed. They also take such great care of me and definitely put in the extra work to make their clients happy!
