I want to express my sincerest gratitude to both Denise and Melissa for getting my crown right... The atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming. Everyone is in sync with one another. They checked on me throughout my appointment. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and it felt like I've known these ladies forever. I'm definitely looking forward to future appointments. The prices are very reasonable. Thanks so much again ladies!! Your professionalism, regards and service were amazing as well as appreciated. I love my Microloc Extensions Retie. I am a faithful client I love me some Pia. She get my hair right everytime. My hair has grown a whole lot more. The atmosphere is welcoming and peaceful. My hair def lets me know when it’s time to get that good ole treatment!

UPDATE!! 650$ for insta locked and BOOM THE BACK CONING out. 650$ for a service that’s not servicing. SMH I am highly disappointed with the quality of my hair. I will never come back here or tell anybody I know too. Absolutely RIDICULOUS !!!Unfortunately I did not have the best experience. Friday June 27, 2025. I called to see about getting my hair instalocked. I was told to come in so that they could see me and price me out. Initially I was told by the stylist he would charge about 600-600. I said okay when are you available? He said Saturday at 3pm. I came in about 3:10pm. He said he wouldn’t be able too because Deneife had to start them and she was booked. Okay cool no problem. I was irritated because I took a Lyft to get there but whatever. She said 650$ now to get my hair insta locked. I left a 100$ deposit and was told Tuesday at 10am.. So I get there Tuesday at 9:45am. Ten comes and she isn’t there nor is he. So about 15 minutes goes by and she’s there, along with someone else who was booked for her at 10am.. Now an hour and a half later? I still didn’t get seen. I am irritated at this point, but still calm enough to ask what’s going on? So then I get told to come back at 3pm! This was totally disrespectful to me as a client who is spending 660&!! Just to get treated like shit and not have my time respected as well. If the shop charges late fees? Why didn’t they discount the service for having me rescheduled TWO TIMES?? I don’t want a discount, I don’t want a credit. I want these shops to RESPECT MY TIME, like they want there time respected. My hair turned out okay and I do like it. HOWEVER, for the price I paid and the total disregard for my time? I will NEVER be spending money here again and will no longer recommend people to Da Notty Roots. You guys need to respect peoples times especially charging these prices. I really did love them as a brand and came outta state because I wanted Da Notty Roots, to start my hair again. This was totally a bad experience and I hate that this happened and the BIGGEST problem I had? Nobody even apologized for MY TIME BEING WASTED. Respecting your clients and giving them professional service is just as important as your quality of work. You guys can do better than this, I hope you continue to excel and thrive but I will no longer be supporting Da Notty Roots.

Da Notty Roots is THE Salon for your locs to get treated. My Loctician's name is Melissa. She's very respectful and experienced in treating your locs, as with all of the locticians there. Each one has there own technique to style & care for your hair. So, if you really want quality...head over to Da Notty Roots.

I have been taking my boys to this location since 2021. Had no problems until now. My oldest wanted to get his high top locs cut in half and the other half attached to the sides and back of his head. At a $500 price point, I was extremely disappointed. A week after this was done the side started to come out. We contacted the establishment and they attached the ones that came out but a day later, they came out more. I’m extremely disappointed and they have lost our business.

I didn't like how the first time the girl palm rolled then the second time I was told it wasn't locking and she did it with the comb. This is my first start journey to locs I don't feel they was helpful. Both times I tipped just cause I try to support black owned business but I will not be returning. Also my appointment was at 10 and the person to do my hair ain't even show up on time.

The entire staff here is amazing. The atmosphere made me comfortable and safe. My mother got her locs loved on here. That’s the energy i love. I had a bad experience at the Norfolk location, but Pia and the crew had me smiling the whole time. Thank yall!!!!!
