As someone who's always nervous about trying new barbershops (you know how it is - nobody wants their hair messed up when you're away from your usual spot!), I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I called the same day and they actually fit me in, which was already a great start. The customer service was genuinely nice from the moment I walked in. But the real star here is Lala - she absolutely rocks! She knew exactly what she was doing and made me feel comfortable right away. My haircut turned out fantastic, and I left feeling confident instead of worried about how it looked. Definitely recommend this spot, especially if you're like me and usually hesitant to try somewhere new.

edit: Sal and his team will bend over backwards to make sure you are happy! He got me in today to get this fixed up (2 days post review). They are the best! Original review: I feel really awful leaving a poor review for this place because they have been cutting my hair for a while now and I really like the majority of the stylists there but my most recent experience did not go well at all. I went in for a cut and dye/bleach and received a very uneven job. Many sections of my hair at unbleached, prior to these pictures I had cut the sideburn pieces myself because my left sideburn was bleached and the other was not. I am really unsatisfied wjth this result and I feel like the stylist who did it is not experienced enough yet with a job like this and maybe should not be doing them. I will still go back because I really like the other stylists but I will not be going back to the stylist who did this job. I am not going to name the stylist because she really is sweet and I like her and her skill will improve with time but maybe just needs more practice in this area.

I made an appointment here to get my hair cut and I truly wish I hadn’t. I showed my stylist a picture of how I wanted my hair cut(it had previously been cut this way before I just needed a touch up/trim) and she absolutely ruined my hair I’m going to have to have to pretty much cut it all off.The front isn’t perfect but it looks ok so when she didn’t offer to show me the back I wasn’t too worried so I paid full price and tipped no problem but once I got home and saw the back I started to cry and now have an appointment at another salon to try and "fix" what was done to my hair at this salon

I am not that familiar with Oakland, and I could not find this shop. I called and asked for directions right at noon, when my daughter's appointment was scheduled for. The shop owner actually left the shop and went out on the sidewalk, phone in hand, to direct me to the shop and to try to direct me to a parking place. I thought that was beyond the call of duty. Very kind of him. Also, yesterday, when my daughter called to see if she could get an appointment, Mr. Puccini fit her in today. Also very kind of him because the shop was busy. My daughter loved her haircut. This place deserves all of the good reviews it has received.

Just went here for the first time and absolutely loved it! I think I had Ashley and she was so amazing. I had inspo pics for the general vibe I wanted and she gave me a cut that matched the vibe but also fit my face shape super well. Literally everyone has been complementing me she did such a good job!! She was also so sweet and interesting to talk to and not awkward at all. Also I thought the price was very fair. Will definitely be going here again!!

Great people who work and own the place , but can say that I would mainly recommend if you are looking for something cool colorful and vibrant, not so much with a basic highlight.

Edit-the owner is accusing me of lying and faking these pictures. This is the most absurd, rude, and disrespectful customer service I have ever experienced. After messing up my hair at least have the dignity to take responsibility and own up to your mistake. Haircut is not at all what I asked for. Showed pictures of my exact haircut on my own hair and not only did my cut turn out uneven it looks nothing like what I asked for. I went in to get it leveled and parts of it are still uneven. I thought maybe it had just dried weird but after a shower the next day this is the worst haircut I have received. Photos are what I asked for vs what I received
