Great experience as a first time client! I was looking for a new stylist & I am so glad I found this salon. Drew gave me great suggestions & saw the vision for a style tailored to my hair texture & personal preference. The cut came out perfect & the blowout is gorgeous! I also LOVED the scalp massage from Josie. Looking forward to coming here again & trying out the head spa next time!

So far, so good! I met Wendy today for a color consultation on how to transition my dyed hair to my natural gray. I am so appreciative that she listened attentively to me describe what I wanted, validated my concerns, and actually came up with a plan on how to achieve the desired look! Wendy is so positive and professional. It is such a relief to be "seen." I am looking forward to our appointment next week.

I love this salon so much! I had been looking for a replacement salon for close to two years after my long-time stylist made a career change. I'm so relieved to have found Root Salon. I initially saw Mandy for my first few appointments, but she ended up moving. My most recent appointment was with Wendy, and she is amazing! She took time to listen to my hair journey and come up with a solid plan on how to achieve the look I wanted with the least amount of damage. My hair looks and feels SO amazing and I was so impressed with her skills. She is also such a sweetheart and we yapped the entire appointment haha. I highly recommend Root Salon and would 1000% recommend booking with Wendy!

Amanda was amazing! She took time to listen to me and made me feel comfortable. This was my first time in and I wanted to pamper myself. I got the head spa service and treatment and it was incredibly relaxing. I will absolutely be coming back to see her.

My hair never looks as good as it does when I leave Shane’s chair. I’ve looked all over the Chicagoland for someone who does balayage like Shane but haven’t found anyone so I came out here to get it done. Highly recommend as no one has the same technique and not eveyone is as good at blonde highlights! Shane’s technique makes my hair look good in any style - some highlights do not make a pony tail look good but Shane makes sure to get all the right angles!

I loved this place until they got new ownership. A bang trim (15 minutes on dry hair) is now $40 (for my stylist) for a regular customer. Unfortunately, I can’t rationalize paying that. They were free, which is normal even for high end salons. Free (or less expensive) promotes purchases of hair products as well as higher tips. Bad move.

Shane is phenomenal! He was super knowledgeable about everything hair and it showed in his work. He took the time to understand what I was looking for and explained to me what he is doing and why throughout the process. The results speak for themselves! I recently got a hair cut and balayage and am obsessed with how it looks. Not only did he make my hair look amazing but he was extremely personable and funny, making it a 10/10 experience.
