Brien O'Brien Salon

I intentionally waited a week before writing my review so that I could see how my new haircut grew out a bit. It's one thing to look great in the salon but how does a cut live on you, that's the real tell of a cut's quality. I'm really happy to report that my time with Chris was well rewarded. My haircut looked great out of the gate. At a dinner event that night, Bob Hope even said that my hair was "snazzy"! A week out and it's even better! Chris is a gem of a guy. He's lovely to talk with and he's got great skill. Both cut and color are awesome.

The best experience I’ve had at a salon!!! This was my first time coming here. The salon itself is beautiful and spacious, with a nice seating area to wait. From the moment I walked in to the time I left I felt so good, everyone there is so nice and welcoming. I had a big hairstyle request of a split dye, half platinum blonde and half magenta pink with a cute modern cut. My hair has had pink box dye in it for 5 years so I wasn’t sure if we’d get the blonde I wanted in one visit. Chris was my stylist and he was so sweet and fun, the best energy and made me feel at home immediately. I told him what I wanted and didn’t even show him any pictures, and he gave me exactly what I was hoping for. He mixed colors to make the exact shade of pink I wanted on one side, and was able to lift 5 years worth of dye out of my hair to the most beautiful icy platinum blonde on the other. He used a gentle bleach and my hair feels so soft and hydrated, it doesn’t even feel like there was bleach in it at all! We were talking about haircuts and he mentioned a butterfly cut which is like Sabrina Carpenter’s hair and that’s like exactly what I wanted, something cute and modern, and he delivered. The pricing was really good considering how much hair I have, what I wanted to do to my hair, and how long I was there for. He also styled my hair so beautifully, I wish he could style my hair everyday LOL! This is the best my hair has ever looked or felt. I feel like a brand new woman. I don’t think I have ever left a salon this happy, he exceeded my expectations by far. 11/10 recommend Chris and this salon, I am over the moon with how my hair turned out. I am so happy with it I already made another appointment to see him again!

My partner and I had both a very nice hair cut. We walked in very spontaniously and got super lucky. Thanks a lot, also for the tips we got for our next stop in Koshua tree.

Brien took great care and patience to make my hair vision come to life. He is detail oriented and has a great stylistic vision. He took a lot of time with the consult to make sure we were on the same page and then went to work to make it happen. I highly recommend this salon!

I wanted to love this salon, but my last experience was terrible. They called to change my arrival time the day before my appointment, so I went 30 minutes early. When I got there, I sat on the couch and waited 30 minutes. I didn't understand why they asked me to come early if we weren't going to get started right away... After doing my hair color, the stylist was like, "I have another client coming and I won't be able to finish." So he left me with sopping wet hair. It was most frustrating because I had explained that I had an important engagement and I needed my hair styled, so leaving looking like hell wasn't desirable, especially at the price I paid. I have to question why the other guy couldn't wait 30 minutes like I did? I also don't understand why they didn't let me know about the time constraints upfront so I could have opted for less color and more polishing?

My love for Brien’s cut and color is supreme! I have miles of hair & he is the best! I’m really fortunate to have been an early client and have stayed with him ever since! You won’t find better, and the products he recommends work fantastically well extending the accurate color a way long time! And he’s a fine man too!

Yesterday was my first time at Brien O'Brien Salon, and I will definitely be back! Michael-Joseph was my stylist. He was very sweet and charming and worked nothing short of magic! I came in with a sad bun, and left with a bouncy new doo and now I love my hair! Thank you Michael!
