Lady Jane's Haircuts for Men- Palatine (W Dundee Rd & Rand Rd)

So let’s begin… walking in first impressions comfy seats. Color on the walls weird and not comfortable to the eye. But we are not here for that….Moving forward with the wait time. There were only two people to cut hair so you can imagine how you are a walk in and wait awhile when their appointments come in. It means make an appointment. On to the hair cut, nice friendly staff makes you feel comfortable sitting down.. I started a conversation and we continued on from there. Precision and carefulness was key during this part and this place exceeded my expectations haircut came out great and $25 with shampoo and hot towel so much better than sports clips. Guys don’t sweat it come to this place instead of sports clips. Sports clips came out to 45 then tip added was about 55$. I like when the tip goes more to the worker than the company. This place suited me fine and I will return. Minus one star only because of the appearance of where you sit.

As a Mailman in Palatine I have visited ALLLLLLL various salons, barbers, spas, and hair stylist businesses. As your average man, requiring a haircut just about once a month means I want to find a place that is convenient, consistent, moderately priced, & has an amazing atmosphere. What does that mean? It means getting your haircut by Jennie at Lady Jane’s in Palatine. About 3-4 years ago as i began my career, I moved to this town. Having lost the lady who cut my hair since I was a kid, it suddenly became a daunting task for me to discover the right place as well as the right person for this challenging job. I visited many establishments prior to lady Jane’s. I tried them all. None of them however, could compete with what lady Jane’s expert hair stylist, Jennie, offers. Not only is she amazing at what she does, she is confident, energetic, enthusiastic, witty, & down right a blast to get your haircut by. With her smile, ability to slash the most difficult scalp hairs, & fun personality….She creates a positive environment that keeps me coming back for more! In regards to the shop, it is always clean, has the correct sports channels on, & is always playing the most upbeat popular music. I will definitely return. This place is highly recommended. I will also tell others about it.

This review is about Amelie. The first time I walked into Lady Jane’s, I looked like Jonah Hill in The Wolf of Wall Street (you know the scene where he tells Leo he has a present for him) and walked out looking like Ryan Gosling in anything he’s ever been in. Amelie worked some kind of wizardry on my thick, cowlick-ridden hair, something no barber has ever been able to pull off without just cutting those spots too short. She handled each one of my ridiculous hair swirls with the precision of a sculptor. Don’t be fooled by how young she looks, Amelie has skills beyond even the most seasoned barbers I’ve been to. Her fades are perfect (chef's kiss). I even let her shave my face, which I’m very picky about. She used her expert eye, followed all the lines of my cheekbones (or whatever. I have a fat face), and somehow made my beard look better than it ever has before. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, she waxed my brows too. They were out of control. It seemed scary at first, but it didn’t hurt or anything. A few weeks later, I had to see if this was a fluke because everybody has a good day once in a while. So I went back again, and I had the same results... over and over. She’s consistent. She’s a master of fades. She’s the real deal. The only downside? After I get my haircut, my wife suddenly wants to hold my hand in public everywhere we go. And honestly, nobody wants that. Thanks, Amelie. 10/10—will definitely be back again and again. Nobody comes close to what you can pull off.

This has definitely been one of the best haircuts I’ve had in recent years. A big thank you to Ana for truly listening to my preferences and customizing the cut just the way I wanted. I highly recommend Lady Jane’s! Also, thanks to Tara and Ana for thoroughly recommending the right hair products. Feels like I’ve finally found the perfect place for my haircuts!

Went there with my boy didn’t know what to do with his hair and Kim came up with a nice hair cut. Next week came back with my other son. Kids liked her and were happy with their new look. Fast service.

Ever since 2023 I have gone to this place with a good haircut every single time, usually every 3 months. However, today I received a stylist I have never gotten a haircut from, and reeked of cigarettes. I used a photo of MYSELF as a reference (mind you this was also a cut by Lady Jane’s), but she seemed very confused. I had specifically asked for a taper with a 3 guard, but she just used a one guard all around my head. I tried being as vocal as possible, but it was too late. The back and sides were way too short, and essentially gave me a bowl cut with the top dangling on the sides. Luckily, another stylist who had previously cut my hair helped salvage the few remnants of my hair follicles and it looks semi presentable. Trust me, it looked 100x worse than the after photo below. I am honestly considering going for a buzz cut and a complete reset. Reading the reviews previously, I know this isn’t a universal experience with this specific stylist. I also know many of the other stylists are very capable and skilled. However after this experience, it’s i safe to say I am deeply disappointed with my haircut and I will not be returning any time soon.

We’ve been taking our son to Lady Jane’s in Palatine for his haircuts for over two years. The girls there are all great but our favorite is Tara. She is so meticulous and takes her time to make sure his hair is perfect. She even foiled my son’s hair when he wanted to try some highlights. The salon is nice and clean and they have TVs at every station which of course my son thoroughly appreciates. Very reasonably priced as well. Couldn’t recommend it more!
