I’ve only dyed my hair once before and it was a bad experience of not getting what I wanted and the color washing out right away, so I’ve been hesitant to find a salon and try again. After saying "I wish I had pink hair" over and over again for a few months, I decided to just do it last week. I called NoHo Hair on Wednesday and they scheduled me an appointment for the next morning at 10:00 am and invited me in that day for a consult. I was really pleased by their ability to fit me in at the last minute and their willingness to consult ahead of time. Everyone on the staff was very welcoming, offering my friend and I water and coffee when we came in. Minerva was my stylist and in the consult she recognized that I have very thin and fine hair and explained to me that she wanted to use a type of bleach that was less strong and would cause less damage. I appreciated her honesty and the fact that she explained to me what specifically she needed to do and the risks involved. In the past I was told that it wasn’t possible to get the color I wanted in one session because of my hair but Minerva told me she could do it by using the right formula. She quoted me $250-$350 for the whole process. When I came for my appointment the next day, Minerva told me she had been doing research on how to achieve the look I wanted with my hair type. Ultimately, the appointment lasted around 6 hours, which was longer than I expected, but she talked me through the whole process and I trusted her fully. When the pink dye came out and she started styling my hair I couldn’t stop smiling. It was perfect and worth the wait! The only complaint I have was that the final price was $420 which was more money than I expected to pay from the quote, but I understand that my hair needed extra bleach and time than she initially expected, and to me it’s worth it for the hair I got in the end. $420 was for the bleach, pink dye, wash, dry, style, and haircut. I’ve received so many compliments and feel amazing every time I step outside. Minerva is truly amazing! She is extremely detailed in her approach. She took into account my hair texture, goals, and natural part. The outcome: a fabulous hair cut that makes me beautiful! I have fine wavy hair and she was able to keep the length while still making it look full. Best of all, my hair looks lovely when I style it myself.

i love noho hair salon! minerva is the best!!! i usually get a dark brown gloss and long layered haircut/curtain bangs and my hair has seriously never looked better in my entire life. i always have a lovely time and leave looking and feeling incredible 🥰 sooo happy to have found this salon & minerva ❤️

i’ll let these photos speak for themselves. i’m not one to post reviews, but i don’t want this to happen to anyone else. this happened about a year ago, and my hair hasn’t fully healed or regained its texture since. i had to pay double to get it fixed and they repeatedly refused me a refund, just don’t. this was a balyage touch up with some lowlights several weeks after a color correction. i was in the salon for 8 hours, had expressed my dissatisfaction, and was told they could tone it for me later and to never do anything to my hair ever ever again. i added a photo of my hair now for reference.

They cut hair by gender and not by length so if your nonbinary with short hair (like a men's cut) but people assume ur a woman know you'll be charged $85 vs $35 for short men's style hair cut. I did however get my hair washed before hand but it seems weird if the wash+shampoo was the $50 difference for the service.... Anyhow, the quality of care and hairstyle at the end is perfectly fine and wonderful. Just not sure about being charged for my perceived gender anymore 😅.

Paul is a wizard. I’ve never liked a fresh haircut on me until I started going to him. I’d shaved my head and let the hair grow out naturally and he was able to make sense of the mess and give me a very stylish bob. 11/10.

I want to like this place, but 2 out of 3 haircuts I’ve gotten here were really bad. I like the older gentleman, he understood my unconventional haircut idea and had some fun stories. The new woman stylist did NOT listen to me at all. My last haircut she wasn’t even looking at me when I tried to explain what I wanted, I should have known then. I wanted less layers and she literally gave me a shag/wolf cut. I continue to get more angry about that as I hate my hair every day.
