Cornell, the Locitian is the best stylish for Locs in New Orleans. He has been blessed with the gift of making your hair grow longer. My Locs were the length of my index finger and in about 6 years they are down the middle of my back, thick and healthy!!! God is so good to us!!!!!!!!

If I could give 0 stars I would. I never write reviews but this place was full of audacity. I arrived for a 5pm appointment. No one was there. I called and was told Bro. Cornell would be there in 5 minutes. That's fine, I understand people run late sometimes. 12 minutes later he shows up. I'm just happy to get started. Instead, he walks in, barely greets me, and begins talking on the phone and eating a meal. Now I understand everyone has to eat, but there was no communication as to when he would be starting. 5:30 rolls around and he still is chatting on the phone eating. I go to the counter to tell him he can cancel my appointment. The next day I call to discuss the matter and was never given an apology. He told me, "well I'm here all day, I have to eat." Which I then replied and said, "that's understandable, but there was no communication on when you would start." He just gives excuses and says "well maybe I'm not the loctician for you." Then hangs up on me. I have literally never been treated like this by anyone before. It was surprising because in previous interactions he seemed pleasant enough. I am a very understanding person. I told him I would have been fine with waiting if he just communicated he hasn't eaten all day. I would understand that. But no, he disrespects my time then hangs up on me the next day. This is a BUSINESS. Not a mom-and-pop shop or your neighbor's cousin who does locs. A full-blown, tax-paying BUSINESS. Yet, this is how I was treated. I have already filed a complaint with the BBB. Please choose somewhere else to go unless you are desperate and are okay with unprofessionalism. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Awesome atmosphere as soon as you walk in very relaxing and smoothing knowing your getting your hair done and when it's all done Bro Cornell has you looking and feeling like new queen ready to conquer the world 🌎. I love getting my hair done here he does Phenomenal work that's make me feel very pretty 😍 everything I leave. I highly recommend everyone check this spot out

I had such a great experience at Tru Rootz Salon. Time is of the utmost importance to me, and they started my hair before my appointment time. The staff is very professional and knowledgeable. I am super pleased with the results. I will be coming back.

After hunting for a loctician for years, Cornel was the one person in the metro area (north and south shore) who was confident he could lock my loose coils. His confidence was absolutely for a reason! I have now had locks for a little over 7 years, and regularly get compliments on my hair. Tru Roots as a location is a very relaxed and positive space, which I appreciate greatly. Everyone is very kind and professional, and I enjoy each visit I make.

My follow-up appointment was handled by a warm and welcoming receptionist. My hairstylist worked quickly and made me feel comfortable. He is well-informed and asked for details about my hair. I'm glad I selected Tru Rootz to revive my hair journey.

Omg. I have been going to Bro. Cornell for about a year now and I can honestly say I have never been disappointed. I get my locs interlocked every six weeks and the service so good I book my next appointment while I'm in the chair. If you need anything loc related you need to come see Bro. Cornell.
