Tonie Taylor Salon & Boutique and Renew U Esthetics

I have struggled with shedding and breaking hair forever! I have Lupus and any stress causes my hair to break and thin. When we moved to NB, I started go to Tonie because I read good reviews about her. I had a mess on my head! It had multiple colors of brassy yellow and gold and it was just a mess! Tonie first started with correcting the color and got me to the blonde I always wanted. And now, for the first time in my life I tried extensions and I am blown away! They are so beautiful! I was very nervous but Tonie is truly an artist and has changed me from feeling insecure and embarrassed about my hair to a new confidence I have never experienced. She truly is the best!

Tonie is a skilled hair artist, also very caring and flexible. She took me in at the last minute today, making space for me in between two appointments on a day that her day was packed. I had erroneously made an appointment with a Salon with a similar name and logo, in not New Braunfels but in Nebraska! Well I showed up at Tonie Taylor’s perplexed and thinking maybe the computer system had taken on a life of its own. No, it was me making an appointment at the wrong salon. Tonie was kind, forgiving, and made space for me. Plus my hair looks great. Thank you Tonie Taylor.

Tonie is amazing! I have been going to Tonie for several years now, and she is hands down, the best in the area. I don’t write many reviews, but this one is well deserved. I went to a good friend of mind that I knew & trusted for many years, but he passed away. Tonie is an artist, she has a vision , with color & with what cut would look best with your body & shape. I fully trust her and you will be in excellent hands. I have tried other salons, they pass you to different stylists, don’t listen, don’t have the training or experience.Tonie stays up-to-date on the newest training, I respect that. Trust me, you will be in great hands with color, any cut, extensions, brazillion blowouts, whatever you need ( I have done it all being a real estate professional:) Tonie Taylor has got you !

I cannot say enough good about Tonie at Tonie Taylor Salon & Boutique! She is not only incredibly talented but she’s also the sweetest person! She took my very fine and thin hair and made it look like I have so much volume! She’s a genius with blonde as well! I will never go anywhere else!

I came to this salon asking for partial highlights to brighten the blonde on top of my head and around my face, along with a root tap to blend in some grays. I ended up with full head of dark color applied to all my regrowth for 2 plus hours—something I never asked for. The attempt at highlights only covered up the blonde I actually liked, and didn’t even tone the copper pieces I had specifically asked to address in the front. After that, the stylist left me sitting at the shampoo bowl for 18 minutes, my whole head saturated with color, without once checking on me. She stayed in the back the entire time, salon owner did come and offer a towel, thank you.. My neck was on fire from a chemical burn. What was supposed to be a 2 hour and 15 minute appointment turned into over 3 hours, and I still wasn’t done. No time for scheduled haircut. During the blowout, the stylist used only a dryer—no round brush—blasting my scalp until I asked for a round brush to smooth it, , which somehow caused confusion. I left with a sore scalp, damaged hair, and mushroom brown color that I never wanted. I'm very surprised @Tonie Taylor's response to my experience at her salon. I'm confused: I came in to have my blonde highlights refreshed but instead, they were completely covered with dark color I didn’t ask for. I also suffered a chemical burn on my scalp during the process. When I raised concerns, the owner denied it happened and blamed me instead of taking responsibility. Unprofessional, unsafe, and disappointing. The time frame discussed and appointed for included haircut/blow out, did not happen, still ran 45 minutes over. If you are happy with your guests leaving your shop with this experience, clearly this is not the shop for me. Your stylist lacks basic color and technical skills, instead of making it right, you blame the client. I still have a mark on my neck over three weeks out, but I guess it's easier for you to deny.

Jackie is amazing! My hair has more baggage than one could imagine and she truly made my ✨hair dreams✨ come true. Her expertise is incredible, she is also one of the most warm and friendly stylists I’ve ever met. In addition to Jackie and her hair magic powers, Jess (another great stylist at the Tonie Taylor salon) made me feel right at home with her friendly demeanor and incredible head massage while she did my hair wash. Overall 10/10 experience. I’m so grateful I found y’all!

Tonie helped me pick a color with highlight that is perfect for me. It blends my grays while allowing me to maintain my brunette undertones. The highlights brighten my hair with just the right tone of blond to blend beautifully. My hair is healthier than ever and requires less maintenance. The vibe of the salon is #tribe and fun. It’s like a "time to myself and with my girls vacay" kinda feel.
