Gilded Hair Salon

The Gilded Salon is well named. Being blonde today is so much more than just foiling and processing, so finding a true blonding specialist who understands maintenance, depth and hair integrity is a real find here in NBTX. I have long hair, about 70% gray and a true beige blonde. It’s easy to go too cool or too warm, but they nail it every time. I do a full balayage once a year and maintain with a root melt and toner every 8-12 weeks. The team helped me design a look that makes my grow out effortless with no harsh lines (much harder to do than you think!) and cost conscious. 10/10.

Yesterday was my first time I visited the salon. It was very last minute appointment I made but even with it being so last minute from start to finish everyone was so kind and helpful. As for my stylist KJ she is no less than a miracle worker. She took the time to help me come up with a plan for my hair especially after the complete disaster that the person did to me in India. She was able to give me her professional opinion and gave me the most incredible transformation in just one visit. I am most definitely going to be back. Absolutely loved the salon from front staff to my now permanent stylist KJ. I can’t wait to be back. I highly recommend this salon and especially my stylist.

After 20 years with the same stylist, I took a leap of faith and made an appointment with KJ. I can’t even begin to tell you how amazing she was! Went in to see Charlsie for the first time and she did an amazing job! She’s so sweet, easy to talk to, and great at what she does. The salon itself is super cute, clean, and comfortable. I’ve been driving up to Austin for the past three years because I was scared to part with my old stylist, but I’m so glad I finally found this place. They took great care of me ☺️

The first few times I visited, I saw Sarah — she was amazing! When she went on maternity leave, she set me up with Miss Shayne, and I’ve been seeing Shayne ever since. Both of these ladies are absolutely wonderful. Every visit is a treat from start to finish — I’m greeted with a glass of wine, a relaxing scalp massage, and the kindest staff. My blonde always turns out perfect. I’m naturally blonde, but I love getting lighter highlights and a soft balayage. My hair is super thick, especially around the crown, and I’ve had stylists in the past struggle to get even lift — sometimes I’d leave with tiger stripes or uneven color. But Shayne gets it right every single time. The entire salon is beautiful, relaxing, and so welcoming. Gilded has officially become my forever home for all things hair!

This review is long overdue as I’ve been a client at Gilded for over a year! I initially booked with Gilded for a haircut and saw Shayne their lead master stylist last summer. Even though I was scheduled for a haircut only, Shayne thoughtfully answered all of my coloring questions and did a mini consultation. I ended up scheduling my coloring appointment during check-out due to her building trust with me and my hair pretty much immediately (when you know, you know)! I’ve had an amazing salon experience since day one. All of the ladies are beyond professional, nice, stylish, and very personable. They are experts when it comes to hair and truly care about their guests having a high-end experience. One of my favorite things about Gilded is the atmosphere (and aesthetic) of the salon! A child-free environment is hard to come by when it comes to beauty services so I LOVE that there’s a curated child-free space for us girls to relax and have some adult time + self care. All services are thoroughly explained and quoted price wise beforehand in order to meet your desired hair goals. Shayne has been coloring/cutting my hair since our initial visit taking me from a medium-dark brown to a beautiful lived-in "natural" vanilla blonde. The integrity of my hair has not only been maintained but improved with her recommended products/treatments. Going from dark brunette to blonde is not an immediate or simple process (despite other salons unfortunately over-processing hair). The Gilded girls are blonding experts! My hair is still long (grown out to my lower back) with healthy ends/texture despite regular lightening treatments for the past year. Hair integrity is without a doubt priority for their stylists. Shayne’s schedule is very flexible and she is always willing to work with her guest’s schedules as well. Pricing is beyond generous, in my opinion, for the quality of work you receive. I typically schedule for a full or partial balayage with foliage and a haircut. This is a very thorough service which also includes a wash, scalp massage, blowout, and style with curls for no extra charge. Shayne always puts in extra effort to use the Kevin Murphy products for a final touch (leave-in conditioner, treatment oil, texture/shine spray etc.). Her apprentices have also assisted with my appointments; they are all well-trained and very professional. I feel like I am in good hands even with the trainees. When I need a maintenance appointment instead of coloring I book for a gloss and haircut, it’s the prefect refresh! I’m happy to see so many well-deserved 5 star reviews! With any stylist you choose, you will not be disappointed at Gilded!

I had the best experience. The vibe is so comfortable, chic, and welcoming. The team there was super friendly. Best hair experience from Daniella - she created a seamless and soft blond look for me that was both dimensional and natural. The layers I wanted/requested were done perfectly.
