Kay’s Hair Lab

After going to large braiding shops that tend to not care about damaging your real hair, I finally found Kay. She abided by my request to not have tight braids that pull my hair and damage it when I am trying to grow it out. She did my braids in about 3.5 hours and I didn't wake up the next day in pain. It's been about 2 weeks and they still look great! I'm excited to go back to her once these braids run their course!

New to the area and found her randomly; definitely the best thing to happen. She makes sure you love the style and will go above and beyond to make sure you walk out well satisfied. And she is the one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Definitely 10/10 and cannot wait to do more styles. She literally does it all.

Kay is one of the few hair stylists in the area who is licensed and able to do 4C hair. She is very professional, knowledgeable, and most importantly gentle with my niece. We love coming here 🩷

I recently got my hair done at Kay’s Hair Lab. I must say the service was top notch. I called a day prior of the service. She was nice to squeeze me in and offered a late appointment. She was very professional, welcoming and went above and beyond to satisfy her client. I’m definitely going back to her. I highly recommend her salon!! You will not be disappointed. Please take it from a picky person who doesn’t allow anyone touch her hair.

She overcharged me and decided to increase her tip for extra $36 without my permission!!! I decided to contact her in private but I got no response and she blocked me instead. The wig install didn’t last one week on top my eyes/brows looked surprised. Definitely money wasted 😖

There are two other braiders near my home, including one my daughter goes to regularly, but I wanted to try someone new—and I’m so happy that I did! I only get braids a couple of times a year as a protective style, so I wanted to make sure I chose the right look. Kay was incredibly helpful in guiding me through the process, helping me decide on a style that made sense for me. From our first interaction on Instagram to the day of my appointment, she was thoughtful, patient, and happy to answer all my questions. Even when I changed my style at the last minute, she was super accommodating. She did a phenomenal job—my braids are neat, with clean, meticulous parts, and they look amazing! As an added bonus, Kay also offers natural hair care services, which is so important to me. It’s clear she prioritizes not just the style, but also the health of my hair. Kay will definitely be someone we go to not only for braids but for other hair care services as well. Highly recommend!

I recently had the absolute pleasure of getting my hair braided by Kay for the first time in 10 years, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
